I was having problem connecting my PS3 to the internet as well until I tried the power cycle suggested by the manual. With the PS3 on, I unplugged my modem and router and turned back on after 2 minutes, so that the router can recognize the PS3, then when I scan for the SSID, the PS3 picked it up right away, and from there it was easy! After I connected to the Internet I found the signal was getting dropped. I found that if I pulled the PS3 out of my AV console drawer I get better signal. Now I am browsing the internet and can't be happier!!

When i first got my Ps3, i tryed to update it and it automaticlly signed in using wi-fi from another internet source. Now it doesnt work...is that because the signal is weak, or because im technically stealing the net?

Is it possible to get a wireless connection to the vaio PCV-RX221

Hi,
Vaio PCV-RX221 does not have Wi-Fi capabilities. If you wish to connect it to Wi-fi, you can use a USB Wi-fi LAN Card, which can be connected to any USB port of the PC and can be used to recieve wi-fi signals/ data. Note that PCI Wi-fi LAN Cards are also available, which are internal and added to PCI Port of the PC.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Sitting in a Starbucks trying to connect to Internet. Get error code 052211-1. Unable to connect settings and access points

The reason this is happening is because Starbucks makes you login to an account before you are able to access the internet. Unfortunately the DSi is unable to use this login page as the DSi does not have a web browser. However there is still a way for you to get online.
You will need
  • A laptop
  • USB Wi-Fi connector for the DS
Then just follow these steps
  1. Turn on your laptop and access the Starbucks Wi-Fi
  2. Plug the USB Wi-Fi connector into your laptop.
  3. You should now be able to easily play your DS online

Can you hook the ps3 up to the internet wirelessly

Yes you can connect wirelessly to the internet with your ps3.

Minimum Requirements
  • PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system

  • SIXAXIS™ wireless controller (and USB cable)
  • AC power cord
  • A high-speed Internet account (cable or DSL) with an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Router

    • Wireless router compatible with 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi standards
    • Or an Ethernet (wired) router with a Wireless Access Point (WAP)
You may need to open firewall port numberson your router to connect to the Internet.
The PlayStation 3 will not connect to the Internet through the USB ports.
    //
  • Updated system software installed on your PlayStation 3
Visit PlayStation 3 System Software Update to download and install the most recent version.
  • Your Wireless Network Settings

    • SSID
You will need to know the Service Set Identifier (SSID) of your wireless network. Also make sure the WAP or wireless router is set to broadcast the SSID; otherwise, the SSID will NOT appear on the PlayStation 3 scan results.
If you do not know this information, speak to the person who configured your home network (i.e., wireless router) settings.
    • WEP or WPA Security Key
If your wireless network access is security-enabled (encrypted) from open access, you will need to know your WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) security key or password

    • MAC address
You may need to enter the Media Access Control address (MAC address) of your PlayStation 3 into your WAP if it is required by your network settings.

Cant connect wii to internet

The unit can connect to the Internet by utilizing its 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, which is built in, for wireless connections or via a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor for DSL connections.
For your wireless connection or Wi-Fi, the 802.11b Wi-Fi has a data rate of 11 Mbits per second and has an indoor range of 30m or approximately 98 ft. The 802.11g has the same indoor range, however the data rate is at 54 Mbits per second. If you have an existing wireless connection or are in a Wi-Fi hotspot, the unit will connect to your wireless connection automatically out of the box. If you do not have a wireless network, however, you will need to have your wireless network subscription done or set-up first. Once you have wireless Internet access, you then search for your access point, put in your security settings and you’re good to go. It would also be advisable to have a wireless router for this so that you won’t have to shuttle the connection between your PC and your Wii. wi-fi-usb-connector.thumbnail.jpgAnother option would be to connect your Wii via the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. This accessory allows Nintendo Wii users who do not have an existing Wi-Fi connection or a compatible Wi-Fi network to create one through their broadband or DSL connected computer. This is inserted into your existing computer’s USB port and the Wi-Fi USB Connector acts as a wireless access point for the Wii. This allows the user access to the internet and to play Wi-Fi Connection games from Nintendo Online.
nintendo-wii-lan-adapter.thumbnail.jpgFor your DSL connection, however, you will need to have quite a few things. You can use a WII LAN adapter to connect your Wii to your DSL modem. You can also use a router so that you can use your PC and your Wii at the same time. With the LAN Adapter though, to use or plug in the Wii, you must disconnect your PC. This can be quite tedious since you will have to plug in and out your PC and your Wii every time you need to use one or the other. A LAN Adapter is fairly cheap, but if you get a router, your PC and your Wii can go online at the same time, saving you the hassle of connecting one or the other when you need them. You can then hook up the existing ethernet cords to the back of the router and connect it to the Wii via a USB 2.0 cord.

i hope this helps

My mario kart wi-fi connection disconnects halfway through a race why?

It might be your connection. I've found that if someone else is using the internet/pc etc while I am playing, it will obviously interfere with my game. So to be safe, I pretty much make sure I am the only one accessing the internet/online when I play an online game like Mario Kart.

Update

im sorry but you might have to be a bit more specific. I dont think u can update a ds game. and u cant connect it to the computer. the possible putcome i gathered from that is that he wants to play his game online and trade pokemon etc. meaning u need to connect the ds to your computer wirelessly using a
-nintendo wi-fi usb connector-( a usb drive u basically plug into ur computer and gives off internet for nintendo products) or a -wireless router or modem- ( the black box that the cables go through for internet).

When your grandson plays the game and wants to go online, (i will explain how to use this using directions in the game)
1. turn on the ds and load the game
2. watch the introduction movie (shiny pokemon)
3. on the main screen where you decide to either continue, new game, or -NINTENDO WFC SETTINGS-, go to nintendo wfc settings
4.tap the blue box labelled nintendo wi-fi connection settings
5.if ur using a Wi-fi usb tap connect to wifi usb or if using wireless internet tap a blank connection square
6. follow the prompts for the wifi usb and u will be connected to the internet
7. for wireless internet, tap search for an access point
8. when it has found the wireless internet tap O.K/connect/next etc and follow the prompts
9.when thats connected return to pokemon Diamond main screen then tap new game/continue to play
10. walk to the pokemon centre and go downstairs to battle online - or go into a house in
(Jublife city?) to trade pokemon online

WOAH!! that was a lot of writing!
hope i helped plz make a comment or something if u need my help again
