When I try to copy a page on my Brothers Intelifax 2800, the copied page comes out almost all black so the copy can't be read. I there a part that I can replace to fix this problem or is the machine junk?

Is is a lower end product for light duty use. You can try a new genuine OEM drum and or toner, but buying them both would cost as much as a new 2800. Can you print a internal report OK?If so, then your scanner is defective. A common problem with 2800,s

Hi Robert, if you're trying to copy something that you've placed on the glass without closing the cover of the copier, there's too much back light (coming from behind the item to be copied) and therefore the resulting page will be black. The only light should come from within the copier itself. If the item you're copying is bulky and will not allow the cover to close, try taking an 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper and cutting out only enough of the page to allow your item (to be copied) to sit flat on the glass while covering the remaining exposed glass with the paper. Sounds like your driver is sending A4 size documents, and you've got Letter in the drawer. When you do that, it runs out of room on the Letter-size page, since A4 is a tad longer, and has to continue onto a second page. Margins being what they are, the second page is usually blank.
