By your question I can tell that you're pretty new
to the cat growing business. You don't
have to give him treat you want to give him because you want your cat to be
happy and you want to reward him when he does good things, it is also a very
good way to discipline your cat.
Yes absolutely, there are many things you can teach
your cat to do with the right reward. For instance you could move the treat
over your cat's head and when he will look up for it, he may end up sitting
down, you should try repeating it a couple of times until he sits down, just
then give him the treat.
The age of your cat does matter. Cats have different nutritional
needs at each stage of its life for instance older cats with considerably
sensitive teeth are advised to eat softer treats. You should always fit the
right treat for you cat at any stage of its life.
The most important rule you'll need to remember is that the treats
should never be more than 10 percent of your cat's total nutrition.
It is not advisable to give your cat dog treats as they both have completely different nutritional needs.
