That could be the Speakers having an issue or the audio out circuit has an issue, Probably a main board issue

If you are trying to watch HD TV through the tv and you are only getting sound, it is most likely because you would need an High Definition cable box. Hope it helps

Commonly for Plasma tv's if the screen went out,,the problem will be the CATHODE RAY TUBE,it is costly to buy.if you want you can buy it,,or it may be the D-board problem will be also,,,
but it is unusual,so check the tube.

Emerson 42 inch plasma (Walmart special) need code

Try the Samsung codes that are in the manual for the remote. The Emerson is a rebadge of a Samsung. My Dish remote worked poorly with the Emerson codes but the first Samsung code I tried worked beautifully! :)

Picture poor quality no sound, can't access plug and play to re tune the unit

you can not enter plug & play in digital mode go to analog by pressing TV/DTV then menu plug & play will now be able to entered

Poor sound quality

This is just a guess but the dolby sound on my system is bad however when I switch to regular "stereo" sound it improves. See if your audio set up has a choice of sound and try them all.
