Question about Andis 01690 Hair Trimmer

My GTO model Andis clippers blade is not properly aligning..how do I adjust it?

The problem with Andis clippers is that you are not told how to get the most effective job out of you're clippers,i can attest to that because i've repaired and adjusted hundreds of them,every user wants a crisp cut,nothing less, you want find the answer to that in the instructions,so you're encouraged to send the clipper back to Andis company,i did that once just to see if they really understand their own tool,the clipper cut no better upon it's return,it was then that i discoverer the ultimate solution,blades has to be precise,only then will you get a crisp cut,for any type of hair ,so before you get rid of blades,remember 85% of the time the problem is with the adjustment of the blade.

most of the time the factory alignment isn't correct,you have to align them your self

Do you actually have an Outliner or a Master clipper the description above and the model do not match. Are the blades not aligning after you change them or are they not aligned straight out of the box? Please call Andis customer service at 1-800-558-9441 for a more complete answer as to how to align the blades.

YOU HAVE TO OPEN DEM UP. TAKE OUT THE SCREWS ON THE TOP DEN TAKE OFF THE BLADE. ONCE YOU HAVE THE BLADE OUT THERE ARE TWO MORE LIL SCREWS UNSCREW THOSE (NOT ALL THE WAY OFF, JUST ENOUGH SO THAT THE BLADE WILL MOVE) ADJUST THE BLADE HOWEVER YOU WANT. IF YOU WANT IT CLOSE FOR A MORE DETAILED CLOSE LINE (NOT TO CLOSE AS DEY WILL CUT YOUR OR THE CLIENTS SKIN). YOU MUST TRY THEM OUT ON YOURSELF SEE IF THEY ARE TOO SHARP, IF THEY ARE TAKE THEM OFF AND ADJUST THEM AGAIN. EASIEST THING TOO DO IS USE A MIRROR, HOLD THE BLADE AGAINST THE MIRROR DEN MOVE IT AT AN 45 ANGLE DEN TIGHTEN THE SCREWS DER (BARBER TRICK).

hi,

the blade and the guard should not be parallel, they should be or look slightly out of parallel. dont forget to oil the clippers..

Andis master clippers lose power

Oil the blades and then adjust them. You will need to add oil while grooming from time to time and then clean & oil them again when finished.

This Andis model is not very good for shaving,I purchase one before didn't do the job. I recommend The Andis GTO you can have it sharpen and adjusted to shave. check out www.mannys-sharpening.com I had purchase my Andis T-outliner service and adjust for shaving. The good thing about manny's sharpening when you purchase Andis T-Outliner he will ask you how would you like your trimmer set at' for line ups or Fade cuts or Shaving set. he resharpen the blade and make sure the trimmer is adjust power and set blade and trimmer too your request. You may pay a little more but it's worth it. Oh one more thing about his service and warranty after 3 month he gives you a free sharpening and service on the Andis trimmer you purchase from him. You only paid for return shipping. I try his service and this guy is good in sharpening and repair. I hope this was help for Tim

Yes there will be an adjustment screw to align the blades but all clippers will make some noise especially when they are close to your ears. Go back to the shop for advice and to hear other clippers they have but you will probably find that you have one of the quietest model of a normally loud product.

My clippers are running and the blades are moving but they are not cutting the hair

make sure it is cleaned and before putting it back together put a drop of clean oil between the blades. Also make sure it it adjusted properly.

How di adjust blades to make andis clippers sharper

Take blades off clipper,loosen screws on blade, place on mirror, rest teeth against mirror, angle clipper at 1 oclock position, slowly titen screws
