Photoshop Album Starter Editions (PASE) doesn't 'store' photos. When you 'import' pictures, it only saves a thumbnail and remembers the location of the original file. It isn't designed as a filing solution. You have to locate and keep track of your original files. Here's an article explaining it in more detail.

SOURCE: Can't get pictures from Photoshop Album Starter 3.2.

If you can see your photos on the Album timeline then this means that the thumbnails have been created OK so it should be that your jpegs are on you PC somewhere do a search for one of the filenames on you r C: drive to see if they can be found, this will tell you the folder that they have been saved in if you want to can then copy them all back onto your SD Card.

The default folder for import varies you may have asked for them to be copied to an obsure folder location the search method is the best way to see if you can recover them.

Hope this helps

Using a mac... have iphoto libraries with photos on external...can open the library but cannot do anything with the photos...just view them as small thumbnails.

You can send them-as attachments to emails. Put them into folders - but only as thumbnails. If you want to work on them, make them brighter, crop them, add text etc - you must have photo editing software - something like ~Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Photoshop Essentials. Your mac - brilliant as it might be - can';t do it on its own -it needs extra software to do extra jobs.

I have Adobe Photoshop Album Starter 3.2 but I now cannot open any of my thumbnail images as they are all described as 'missing files'. I have searched throughout my computer but have failed to find them....

This is due to file type was corrupted, Open the images by selecting 'open with' option and select the proper application to open the same will resolve your problem. or open windows explorer>Tools>folder options>file types tab> select the file extention and select proper application in open with option.

Video thumbnails on my computer wont show up on laptop. The exact files on my PC show thumbnails of videos fine. Is there any software I have to download for my laptop to show the thumbnails?

Open the folder where the files are stored.
Click on 'Tools'
Click on 'Folder Options'
Click on the 'View' tab.
Check the box that says "Do not cache thumbnails"
Click ok.

I hope that fixes it.

Thumbnails

That sounds like your computer is running out of system memory. Instead of crashing, today's computers simply use the hard disk drive (HDD) as memory, when memory runs low, which often will cause the computer to seem very slow and when trying to run a huge memory 'hog' like Photoshop CS2 may eventually cause the computer to lock up (crash). Try increasing your RAM by purchasing more. If money is an issue (these days isn't it an issue for everyone?) you may find a bargain shopping on e-Bay or other re-seller. I bought the extra memory in my computer at about 25% of what it would have cost me in the store. I have 6GB of memory, and can have as many applications open as I like, with no resulting lag. It's great.

Can,t download or burn photos

Most likey the images have been moved from the orginal location. Try locating them by clicking on the Start Menu...Search...Pictures, Music or Video and check off the "Pictures and Photo's" box. Let the search run and see you can find your pictures. Right click on the white space in the seadch results windows and click on View...Thumbnails if you need to view the pics.

If you hover your mouse over the image it should tell you were the image is located (such as C:\Documents and Settings\(Username)\My Documents\My Pictures\(filename).jpg)
You can then go back to Photoshop open the image by going to that directory.

Thumbnail generation

There is no known software compatibility with adobe premiere and vista. The problem will be that you might have changed any setting in vista for thumbnails. I know vista is much different than windows. So, have a look around at the settings.

Computer "hangs up" when displaying the Polaroid Album in PhotoMAX

This error or system hang-up is usually caused by: 1. the camera driver software attempting to read a corrupted photo; or 2. there are too many photo thumbnails stored in the PhotoMAX temporary storage area. In either case, the problem can be corrected by manually deleting the Fun! Digital 320 camera thumbnails from the Polaroid Album (using the Windows Explorer or My Computer icons). Follow these steps to delete the Fun! Digital 320 temporary files: Step 1 -- Locate the temporary photo files If you are familiar with Windows Explorer, simply browse directly to: C:\Program Files\Polaroid\PhotoMAX SE\Digital 320 If you are new to browsing the file system, follow these steps: 1. Double-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop. 2. Double-click on the C: drive. 3. Double-click on the Program Files folder. 4. Double-click on the Polaroid folder. 5. Double-click on the PhotoMAX SE folder. 6. Double-click on the Digital 320 folder. Step 2 -- Delete the temporary photo files Inside the Digital 320 folder, you will see many files, most of which will be bitmap image files. All of the bitmap files that start with dsc_ (example: dsc_005.bmp) must be deleted. To delete the files, you can either drag them into the Recycle Bin, or highlight each file by single-clicking on it and pressing the Delete key on the keyboard. To select multiple files at once, hold down the Shift key on the keyboard as you click on them, then press Delete. IMPORTANT: Do not delete the following files from the Digital 320 folder: * 320popup.rtf * DscDrv_Polaroid.dll * Polaroid Album.exe
