When you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing?all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air from the freezer and into the fridge side, there are ducts on the bottom left side where the air return sto the freezer,if that's blocked the fridge will get warm, also if the fan is blowing depending on your model you could have a damper,it's in the fridge section up top where the cold air blows into, all it is is a door that opens and closes to let the air in when the fridge section gets warm and then it closes when it's cold enough,if the damper is bad it won't open and let the air in,sometimes it gets stuck in the open position and things start to freeze in the fridge section.if you can't figure it out send the model number and i can see what model you have, open the fridge door, look up on the right side near the ceiling and you should see a tag with the model number.good luck and have a great weekend.also from the bottom up in the freezer, remove the second bin of food and touch the back inside wall of the freezer,if there's frost or like snow on the back inside wall of the freezer you have a defrost problem, let me know what you find.

Hello Tom,

I see where ya said the water dispenser works good and thats cool! when you do get the i/m to run the ice harvest cycle are the cubes full size? if yes the water supply can be ruled out as a possibility. Besides the water not seeming as cold are other things in the fresh food compartment NOT as cold as they are not as cold as in the past,if yes try removing the grill below the doors and clean the dust from the coil there,if it isn't there its the rear of the ref. by the compressor. One of the first things to be affected when a ref is working hard to keep things cool due to a dusty coil is going to be the icemaker,it will freeze the ice but the internal thermostat inside of the i/m module isn't satisfied its cold enough to start the harvest. When jumping out the T&H what exactly your doing is jumping the t-stat regadrless of the temp. of it ,causing it to run a harvest cycle

I hope this answer helps you,
Gene

My refrigerator is getting too cold and freezing the products inside. I've lowered the temperature to 3 but it is still freezing. The water in the door is also not dispensing.

yes try the other knob make freezer colder it will make ref warmer.. what that knob does is lessen or makes more cold air come from freezer. less cold air should warm ref up. ok try that. later gator

Freezer is cold but not freezing the ref is not cold

Simple! Refrigerent leak only results in poor cooling. Check your thermostate also to make double sure of the cause.

Water is not cooling

Hi: This Wide by side is like all other side by sides as to how it stores the water. Storage will be behind the crisper or meat keeper in the form of a coil of tubing or a bladder to store the water. Pretty simple. The length of tubing running from the storage to the dispenser will not be chilled. Some refrigerators do this better than others. Try setting the ref. or meat keeper a little colder. Watch your vegetables so they don't freeze. Rare, but it's possible... Older homes (before dispensers,) when fridges just had ice makers, would tap into the hot water line for ice to freeze faster and be clearer. I know this sounds crazy but it's true. I lived in an older home and in the winter the hot water would always freeze first. I know this solution sounds lame but there really is nothing much to go wrong with the water chilling. Pull your meat keeper out and look at the reservoir and see how cold it is. Good luck, Jeff

Freezer quit freezing

HI,

you can try this suggestion first.

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.

any further question let me know.

thanks,

Freezer compartment of refrigerator not freezing

First, I think it’s important to know that the Ref side has no cooling coils, it’s basically a box and the cold air in the freezer is blown over by a fan through a channel into the Ref side. This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
So, how can the Ref side be cold and the freezer side not freezing?

1. Coolant leak. There is enough coolant to keep the Ref side cool but not enough to freeze on the freezer side.

2. Defrost system failure. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice and it's just a matter of time when the Ref side won't cool either. The back wall in the freezer will be covered with ice/frost

MY REFRIGERATOR IS FREEZING EVERYTHING

not sure what kind you have but your problem sounds like the temp control for the ref side has failed . that in turn allows it to continue cooling all the time freezing everything

If your settings are right then the cold control switch is the problem
