Car stays running taking battery lead off . Are there any relays/switches that I am missing here. Have new ignition module to try for s and giggles.
Common causes of intermittent stalling may include a bad idle speed control (ISC) system, low fuel pressure, loss of ignition, vacuum or EGR leaks, or other problems we'll get to later in this article. ... This can lug down the engine and cause it to stall.
My 78 yr old father having this very issue right now 3 hrs from home ?? I said bad battery 01 3.4l Montana. Lost all power driving gauges went wacko bouncing around battery light then nothing no radio power kust windows tried jumping nothing told him to unhook a battery teriminal and jump direct wothout battery started and died at least it started thats why I say battety or alt both maybe but thinking battery could be body mod odk any ideas
First, you can't and shouldn't test an alternator by disconnecting the battery cable while the engine is running. You run the risk of cooking the alternator and the computer. Thats how we used to test generators back in the last century.
Is the check engine light on when the engine is running ? Is the battery charge warning light on ?
There should be a fuseable link between the alternator and the battery that could keep the alternator from charging the battery.
The ignition module would have no effect on the charging system.
First of all dude, I am from the last century- before computers were even put in cars! give me
me a 350/350 and I can fix it all day! the check engine light has been on scince I bought the car as is all cars with over 100k miles lol. When It does hold a charge the battery light is on and off and on and then off, etc.fuseable link is ok.I meant to say body control module- which i think will be my next step. what are your thoughts pops!

You dont need a computer. You need a new Body Control Module. Located under the center console but forward towards the dash. A very common problem with these cars. NOT A USED ONE....A NEW ONE. They are VIN specific.
