Question about Oreck XL Deluxe U3700 Bagged Upright Vacuum
After reading this, I removed the 6 (philips) screws from the plastic handle assembly. Sheeeit! Easy fix. Wire terminal/connector had pulled loose from switch. Pushed on and back in business.

Too late for the original poster for for anyone else researching a similar problem the cause is more likly a defective switch or plug.

Try the fuse of course. if that is ok, a likely cause is the mains cable broken usually near the point where it enters machine. if neither of those, suspect the switch or possibly a motor fault
