Re: Rear Projection Blinking
Very common problem with this TV set. One of two probles. First could be that one or more of the picture tubes could have leaked the fluid onto the main board. if the board is not corrodied, it can be cleaned and the picture tubes will need to be resealed with new "o" rings and new fluid. Next, It is a defective DM module inside this TV. You can take off the cover and look for four capacitors that will be together. You will see the tops are swelling. Change these capacitors and you should be set. If this does not correct the problem, the dM module will have to be replaced or rebuilt.

There are three LED indicators. LAMP, TIMER, STANDBY/TEMP. Each Led or combination leds indicated problem.

LAMP blinking : The picture will automatically appear in about 15 seconds.

TIMER and STANDBY/TEMP blinking : A cooling fan inside the set is not operating normally.

LAMP and STANDBY/TEMP blinking : Lamp cover on the rear of the set is not properly shut.

STANDBY/TEMP blinking : Check if the ventilation hole on the rear of the set is blocked, because if the inner temperature is too high, the power will shut off.

All LED blinking : Lamp may be defective.

It takes about 30 seconds for the TV to warm up, so normal brightness may not appear immediately. The TV has a fan to keep the inside lamp from overheating. You'll occasionally hear it working.

Hi, If red light was not blinking before lamp replacement and after that it start blinking 3 times then pause for three seconds and again blink, check lamp cover that has not been fixed on tv or it is not fixed/ seated correctly there. Lamp cover is first thing that you removed from tv to replace lamp. Hope these info will help. If red light is blinking other than 3 times, let me know how many times it is blinking along with tv model number written at rear to provide you helpful info. Thanks.
It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen. Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while? If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution. Thanks.
The constant blinking green light means that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set.You need to remove the shield from the DM board (standing upright on the left where the DTV RF connector is)and inside you will see the four leaky capacitors (1000 MFD 16 VOLT)replace them, plug the TV in and wait 70 seconds for the blinking light to stop, then turn on the TV.The hard part will be removing the board from the TV(lots of screws and connectors, takes time)
