Leaky Motor My 1 HP jacuzzi magnum pool pump was leaking from underneath. I replaced the difuser as I thought that was cracked however it is still leaking. I'm thinking something inside the motor itself is cracked (seal is fine). Would it be cheaper just to replace the whole motor rather than trying and hoping I can find what is wrong? The motor is only 1 yr old.

This sounds like it could be the shaft seals, which is a cheap fix.
The Jacuzzi Magnum calls for seal 35-423-1021
You might consider replacing the seal plate O-Ring as well. - 35-105-1120

The other end of the shaft has a place to attach a 7/16 or 1/2" wrench. also, there might be a "Reverse Thread" screw in the center of the impeller that you must remove first.

SOURCE: Leaky 4 HP hot tub pump seal AO SMITH motor, pump

If you have removed the impeller this is what you need.
Part number for your shaft seal is : 37400-0028s
Here is a link to the manual on how to install / remove this seal on this pump:
http://www.hottubs.com/content/pdf/Sta-Rite_Dura-Jet_S377(9-12-03).pdf
Refer to page 9.
This seal can be purchased anywhere on the internet. Just do a google search with only the part number. Many suppliers will come up. If you have trouble, I have a few and can make an E-bay sale for one.

Motor removal on a Jacuzzi magnum force pump.

The impeller is threaded onto the end of the motor shaft and the housing (pump body) is attached to the motor with the same bolts that hold the rear cover on the motor they run all the way through on most pumps.

There is a small crack in the pump housing and it has created a pinhole size leak. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need to replace the housing?

Ideally you will need to replace the wet end (not the whole pump) but there are products like LS-X made by fernox that will seal such a leak.

I have a jacuzzi magnum 1500 pool pump which leaks. I changed the O-ring and it still leaks. If I have to change the seal on it, how do I change it. I tried undoing everything on this pump. Thanks!

You need a 201 seal for the pump. Most electric motor shops that work on pumps and of course pool store carry these. If you are unfamiliar with how to change the seal, the charges to have it done are usually low. We charge $15 - $30 depending on how much of the pump is brought in and therefore remains to be taken apart to replace the seal. The seal is about a $5 item.

If trying yourself, you will need to completely disassemble the pump, lock the motor shaft at the rear of the unit, spin off the impeller, and replace both halfs of the seal.
