I have a JVC 56" rear projection TV (AV-56WP30) that the picture has recently become quite dark. The picture has color and the convergence seems adjusted correctly but the luminence is dark. I can adjust the brightness enough to view the picture but that does not produce a quality picture. I have the service manual for the television but can't figure out what exactly is wrong. We are Americans stationed in the UK and no repair shop in the area will touch a rear projection set. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.
Open up the front of the set and find the screen controls and perform a grey scal alighnment by adjusting the red , blue , and green screen controls but be carefull and make sure you adjust them evenly or the picture will not look right. Good Luck

Perfect, it took a while to align everything just right but the picture has never looked better. Thanks for the advise.
