Satellite No Longer An Option on My Kenwood KDC-MP228
This morning I was driving along listening to Sirius satellite radio when it suddenly went silent. I tried switching to another satellite preset, but it was as if the radio was "frozen." So, I turned off the entire radio after about a minute and went to turn it back on and it went straight to TUNER (FM). I pressed the button again and it went to STANDBY. I pressed it again (thinking it would go to SIRIUS, which is usually the next selection), but it went back to TUNER (FM).
The bottom line is: I can listen to FM/AM radio but SIRIUS is no longer a choice on my radio. It goes from TUNER to STANDBY every time I press the button. Help!

If it Sirius capable, get the radio's Sirius satellite ESN, (electronic serial number), from your radio and call Sirius satellite radio and they will tell you what to do. I don't know how to get this number from your unit but in my Lincoln, all I had to do was push and hold the Sirius button on the dash with the radio on and it popped up on the display. Your instruction manual should tell you how to do it. If it isn't compatible, you'll have to buy a Sirius receiver and have it activated with them. Good luck.
Visit the new website siriusxm.com then turn on your radio and put it to channel zero get the radio id which compose of an alphanumeric characters. Then on the website refresh.siriusxm.com enter the radio id of your radio and then put your radio channel to channel 1 the go back again to the website after inputting the radio id click refresh after 5 to 15 minutes turn on to the channels that you want. Make sure that your car antenna is facing under a clear view sky.
Basically, this just means that the head unit is designed to be ready to have a Sirius Satellite Radio system installed. Instead of having to cut and chop wiring and the like, it's ready to just be plugged into the head unit. No need for added expense of adapters and the like just to hook the system up to your car. :)
Hey adam, check that antenna wire! It's probably pulling out at the antenna/magnet end.
Adam, I checked that and sure enough, it was pulling out. So I put on a new antenna and problem solved!
