Try to remove the battery and then reinstall it. If nothing works, try to fully charge the battery and reinstall it

Why won't Kingston SDHC 4 gb card work in Casio EX Z57 camera

The EX-Z57 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. While an SDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Casio Exilim ex-z57 inconsistent blurry pics

Are you pressing the shutter button half-way and giving the camera time to lock in the focus before pressing the rest of the way? If not, the good pictures were just luck. The size of the card has nothing to do with it.

Buy a card reader and use it instead of the software for the camera.
If you use a card reader, you do not need the camera software, unless you want to use the software to edit the pictures.

We'd like to add "date stamp" to each picture taken with EX-Z57

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
