Same as the other person said... I replaced the batteries, even hooked it up to the computer and it will not recognize it. The light turns green for one second, but then it turns red and there is nothing else.

I've had the same problem with my 2 year old C340 camera, Am using the correct Ni-MKH rechargable batteries. In fact, I thuoght my batteries were bad (they're the rechargable type) so I went out and bought new ones. Still same problem. Will try the pencil eraser trick and see if that helps. Thanks

Kodak c340 easyshare when put memory card in it says memory is unusable! It is a HP sdhc 4gig card.

The C340 is designed to work with SD cards. While SDHC cards such as your 4GB card will fit into the slot, they will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Camera shuts off like dead a dead battery with new ones

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

Light turns green then red

try using without memory card. Bad memory card will prevent this form happening. Also a dirt particle may have gootten on the zoom and it got jammed when it closed in.

Kodak easyshare c340 wont turn on

My EasyShare was doing the same thing your post describes, which is how I came to be at this website. I tried the one suggestion of turning on camera (I did so to the 'Auto' setting), then pressing the |O|/i button, which is the button below the 'delete' and above 'menu' next to the screen. That didn't work for me. I then tried the suggestion with the other modes on the power dial, no luck.

I then, from the off position, turned the dial the other way, to the 'favorites' icon, and it worked! I didn't have a memory card in at the time, so it made a noise almost like saying "uh-oh", with the message 'no images in favorites'. I then turned it off, then turned it to 'auto' again, good to go! The lens opened, green light remained on in all modes.

If this helps even one person, I'm glad.
