Kenmore 3.2 cu. ft. Top Load Washer Logo

Vibration Washing Machine Violent Vibration I am in Cozumel Mexico. My name is Earl Born. I can only be reached via email: [email protected] My washing machine was marketed as a KENMORE Model 110.81821100 with a serial number C91455168, but I recognize it as a Whirlpool product. My washer has worked perfectly for 15 years but all of a sudden it has developed a violent viberation at high speed spin. It has been in the same location, on a cement floor and I have double checked the leveling. I have tried manually distributing the load but it doesn't help. As the basket starts spinning, I can see any unbalance gradually reduce, but as it comes up to top speed it starts going off center by more than half an inch and starts really banging hard. The off center action is not happening on every reveloution, I would guess that it is about once out of every 6 or 8 revolutions. I have removed the cabinet and inspected, but cannot see anything unusual. With the basket laying on it's side, the balance ring #387868 appears to be 1/2 full of liquid. Is this normal? I use well water, which is fairly hard. The outside of the basket has some residue, but the inside is perfectly clean. We had two huricanes last year which caused some additional water contamination, but I have always used filter screens at BOTH ends of the supply hoses, and clean them about once evert two years. I sent this message to Whirlpool, but their reply indicated that I would have to work directly with Sears and supplied an 800 number for Sears, which will not work from here in Cozumel, Mexico, and a link where you can order home service but not in Cozumel. Your help will be greatly appreciated as I don't even know the principal of the Unified Balance System. If I remove the impeller and release the basket with the spanner nut to remove the basket for inspecttion and cleaning, will I violate the tub seal? Is there an easy and safe way to keep the brake released so I could watch the balance while it spins down?

There is a excessive vibation during the spin cycles. I have checked and all the springs are OK. What else may be the problem? Model #11020922990

I have the same problem of excessive spining during rising. the machine moves on the floor because it spins so much. Except my machine is brand new. it did it on the first cycle I tried.

But when I look inside, the basket (drum) does not seem to be balanced. it's leaning more on one side. is it normal ? how can I fixed that ?

I bought it at Sears but struggled with them for the delivery for 3 weeks so I don't want to deal with them again so I would appreciate any advice on what part can go wrong (my machine is a Kenmore top load 500 series)

    thanks

I have had this washer, kenmore HD 110 80 series 92284800 for many years. It recently started banging as if the basket has an off center load. It does this every time it spins now. Any solutions?

A few things affect the vibration on that machine first leveling u can level it by pulling the control console towards you and its reset the back feet, second there is a common spring that breaks in the back hooked from the back of the tub to the back panel of the machine base check for that, then there are also suspension pads under the suspension plate small brown plastic pieces three of them right left and rear if one or more is missing there will be a baad vibration hope it helps worste case scenario you might need a new machine base at that point i would buy a new one
