Firstly, yes, it is fully charged, it does have songs down loaded onto it, volume set currently at 18, the hold is not on and I have even swallowed my pride and consultated the guide book, but to no avail. Also its has not been exposed to any moisture or physically misplaced (dropped).
When the play/stop button is depressed the display screen lights up and the stop logo (square) sign disappears and the play logo (triangle) sign comes up on the L/H side of the display screen but the song clock does not move so it does not play any music. All functions seem to workin, except for some reason it has decided not to play any music.
Help please. It really sux goin to work with no sounds and my standard issue CD walkman is just too heavy to carry...
Hi my daughters NW-E507 was only working on the left channel, unless you wiggled the jack plug. I opened it up and found that the TINY contacts from the headphone jack to the PCB had fractured. They were impossible to repair but I managed to get a spare socket from Sony (UK) and soldered it in. All working ok now. If middle (common) leg was to fracture I guess you would have no sound at all?? Worth a look.
PS RESET does not clear the music, only resets the settings and hardware. I had to use that once before when the player froze, the music was all intact.

How do I Put Music on an NW-E003F Sony MP3 Player?
The Sony Walkman E003F is a small portable device resembling a flash drive. This Walkman has 1 GB of storage which accommodates about 685 songs. When the battery is at capacity, the Walkman can play back up to 28 hours of audio. The small player has a built-in USB connector to make downloading convenient. If you want to add songs to your MP3 player, you must use Windows Explorer to download MP3-, AAC- and WMA-formatted audio to the device.
Remove the USB cap on the player to reveal the USB plug.
Insert the USB plug on the player into the computer's USB port.
Select "My Computer" from the desktop "Start" menu.
Double-click on the "WALKMAN" drive folder to open it.
Double-click to open the "MUSIC" folder.
Drag the audio file from the save location on the computer and drop it in the "MUSIC" folder. The songs will load and play in the order that they are dropped into the folder.
