Need some help, ive got a Sony CMT-CPX11 system, and when i turn it on, it turns off automatically after 1 or 2 seconds and then the stand-by light continues to flash. It cant seem to stay on. Any suggestions on why this is occuring? Thanks
The flashing standby light indicates the system detects a fault. When the ?/1 (?/1 is the symbol for the standby button lamp) indicator flashes Immediately unplug the mains lead and check the following items. ? If your system has a voltage selector, is the voltage selector set to the correct voltage? Check the voltage for your region, then make sure the voltage selector is set correctly. ? Are the + and ? speaker cords short circuited? ? Are you using the supplied speakers? ? Is anything blocking the ventilation holes on the rear of the system? (The thermal cut out may be operating but more likely after a longer period of use) Check all the above items and fix any problems found. After ?/1 indicator stops flashing, reconnect the mains lead and turn on the system. I f the indicator still flashes, or if the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer.

I have the same problem. Try to unplug the CPX11 and leave it for a minute. Plug it in and it might work, my CPX does so.
