How do I remove the pto clutch on a Cub Cadet m0del 1046 LT
SOURCE: I need to replace the pto clutch on my cub cadet
best way is to use an impact gun. second way would be to use a pipe wrench on the shaft if theres room. use some liquid wrench to loosen it up too

I have the same mower. The wires do need to be connected. It is a safety feature on the cubs. The engine will not start if the electric PTO is engaged. I just went into the garage, pulled the pto lever out to engage, pushed down brake, tried to start and it would not start. I suggest reattatching the wires and trying it. Hope this helps.

check your spacers to be sure you havent locked the clutch assembly directly to the motor shaft
you should be able to turn it fairly free less some clutch drag

If its an electric PTO then the switch on the dash is bad, Its a lever type ungagement then the little break shoes that rub on the blade spindles are either worn out or mis adjusted. If it started when you changed the blade drive belt its possibly the wrong belt??

LT1024 Won't start. It spins over but doesn't act like it is firing.
