The error that you are getting indicates that the system is not able to detect the Hard Drive. We would need to confirm if the Hard Drive is detected in the system BIOS or not. For that we would need to turn off the computer. Turn on the computer and start hitting F2 key to reach BIOS. On the First page of BIOS it should show you the Hard Disk Drive with name and Number. If it shows all drives and none or not detected then it means the hard drive is not getting detected by the system. If you can open the Laptop and reach the Hard Disk Drive you can try to re-seat it to see if it gets detected. If it still remains undetected, Its time to replace the Hard Disk Drive.

Please try the above steps and get back for any further assistance or clarification

SOURCE: a disk read error occurred, press ctrl-alt-+delete to restart

Restart your machine and while rebooting, press F8 button and boot your system on safe mode. After booting in safe mode, try to reboot it again.

RESTORE EMACHINE E528 TO FACTORY SETTINGS

Try restarting...when the eMachines splash screen appears (e)...press Alt+F10 at the same time...this is the method I learned about when my eMachines recovery management would not complete the restoration process...mine is a desktop pc...but give it a try and see what happens.

Emachine E728/E528 retore disk

Why not a system disk and just repair or restore the operating system? Have you tried booting into safe mode and just doing a System Restore which requires NO Disks?

I have an e528 emachine and my screen is in landscape view instead of portrait view, how doi change it back? Now everything is sideways instead of up and down.

Hi and welcome to fixya!

To change the view of your screen, just simply press alt + ctrl + the arrow keys. It will "turn" your screen. Just stop when you finally have the view that you want.

This will certainly help.
