I have Mitsubishi wt-42315, I have looked up how to do the self check to determine what may be wrong. It will cut on and a second later it cuts off. I did the self check and it does 2 blink 2 blink. I know 2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION** **2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down. How do we determine which IC fuse it is?

You can't. That TV is way too old.

Check and replace damaged component/s at it main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Do asearch by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

Tv have a problems known as a convergence picture problems,it is dead.Tv have R,G,B colors lines mis alignments,have colors pictures shadows or 3D pictures look alike?Yes,than the tv convergence board have dead parts like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.These parts on the tv convergence board must have be replaced to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Do the self check this model has.

When you turn it on and green power light goes out:

on front of set press and hold both the menu and input (or device) buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

The power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what problem is.

either a bad red crt or bad transistor on the red crt pcb!

you need to replace the convergence chips, i had this done about a year ago and costs 450.00 usd

Yes it can be either a Fuse or the power board itself. First lets talk about the fuse. What we are looking for is a burnt ceramic fuse

Check the rating( something like 5v, 2A or something like that) and get replacements with the same values. Should cost you around 10$ for 6 of them. If this doesn't help then its gotta be the powerboard and if this is the case then the powerboard is not user servicable. You will have to get it replaced! Good luck!
