I work in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I am having problems finding someone to work on it. I don't mind sending it off to be fixed, but I don't want to have to pay more than it's worth to make it work.

    Do you have any suggestions?

By the way. Thank you for your help.

Condensation message comes when video head drum got moisture and such moisture can damage tape and video heads. So camera stops function of tape loading and play/ rew/ ff.

Eject and take out tape, if any in camera and blow hot air by hair dryer for 1-2 minutes from at least 6"distance in tape mechanism.

This will evaporate any moisture on video head drum.
and if camera still gives error then dew sensor in camera is bad and you need tech person to replace it.

My camcorder is model GR-D20E. When I turn it on, there is error msg on the LCD screen: Please wait. Condensation, operation paused.

Hi.

The camera has got moisture inside it and that is why you getting the message on-screen.

I suggest you find a dry warm place to put the camera in for about 24 hours for the camera to dry out. Take out the battery when you do this.
The condensation should have dried up after 24 hours and should be fine after that.

Regards.

Condensation, operation paused

you can try gently drying it with a hairdryer not too close or too hot but try to get the moisture out that is causing your problem. this could have been caused by coming in from the cold to a warmer room. this should fix it.

Jvc gr d50.. "condensation, operation paused"

Set it in a bowl of rice for a couple days or leave it out in the open air till it works again. Do not use a hair dryer or any type of pressurized air source. The rice works for cell phones that take a dip in a water source too.

Condensation

Honestly if you had it fixed for $100 you got a bargan. The dew sensors mount on the loading motor and these do fail. It cound need replacement. make sure the connection from the loading motor is good to the main board.

Condensation operation

I found instructions with pictures on fixing this problem online at
http://www.freewebs.com/ltooz/03jvcgrd70u.htm
The process involves taking the camera apart.
Other forums I have looked at have mentioned waiting the error out or allowing the camera to air out.

Jvc comcorder getting error message "condensation, operation paused"

If the camera becomes damp or cold and brought into a warm atmosphere damp forms in the mechanism which would cause the tape to stick and become damaged or fouled.

leave the camera to warm up for a few hours and the fault should clear.

If not the most common reason is the dew sensor has failed and needs replacing

Condensation

This is a bad or dirty dew sensor, a common problem with this model. It's not a user correctable problem. Your local camcorder repair shop should take care of it ( under $100 ).
