Lens error my camera keeps saying lens error and then shuts off
My Kodak M753 digital camera is telling me "lens error: 1,1,5,1,0,0", how can I fix this? - I have no proof of when I bought it, so a refund is out of the question.

I dropped my digital camera just recently back in October and all of a sudden when I turn the camera off the lens is still out when it's suppose to be in... I really don't know how that happened... I know it's jammed... But all I can say is that I miss my digital camera... I got it from project graduation back in June after I graduated..... Should I try and get it fixed or just buy a new one myself even though this one I have was free....

Lens probably does not extend or retract because of debris or a misaligned gear box. The
lens can in about 50% of the cases be repaired without having to replace it. Try to
return to manufacturer first. If you're out of warranty, there are
third party place that fix them such as camera lens repairs. If you want to do it yourself, there are also free camera repair guide websites that show you how to replace the lens, the replacement part is usually available on ebay.
Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
