The screen display is blank however I am able to play tracks

The display does not light up when i turn the player on. I am unable to see anything on the display. The navigations keys work as normal and I am able to listen to the player. Problem is without the display I am unable to see the battery level, the album, music attributes or use the search facilty. Even during the charging process the screen is not displayed. The screen is not damaged, is there a sequence of codes(button strokes) that will enable the screen display again. Please help

My mp3 player fell of from my hand and I am now unable to play it. When I press play it just flash, that´s it. Is there any help?

Yep, my screen doesn't work either unless I turn it on and off multiple times. The keys also seem to freeze up for short periods of time.

My NWHD5 has a similar problem, the back light comes on but no data on the screen, since the cost of replacing the screen is a third of the price of the unit I cheated and bought a remote control from ebay which has a screen on it, not ideal but does the job. Phil

This unit needs a service visit. It may be a common problem with that model but to me it sound like a power supply issue as when you play a disc more power is used to rotate motors and move the sled. This is indicating to you that it is in a weakened condition and will soon fail more significantly. The problem may be as little as a solder joint or a defective Filter capacitor which is common in some models of equipment.

Try resetting it by using a sharp object, like a pin and press the reset button with pin ect.
