Question about Maytag MAH6700AWW Neptune Front-Load Washer

1 Answer

Information code signals "2E"

Washer will not start and the 2E signal keeps flashing. I unhooked the machine, then reconnected. Same signal. I cut off power at fuse box then returned power. Same signal.

it sounded like a great idea, but it was nighttime here in Hawaii so I waited until this morning. When I pressed the chime and xtra rinse problem simultaneously, and waited for 3 second, I got E2. I cannot get at the harnesses in the back as the machine is next to the wall and I am a 71 year old weakling.birdbrain

I have the same 2E problem. I called Maytag last night before I found this site. They told me to unplug the washer and wait 10 minutes then plug it back in. IT DID NOT WORK! Then, they said to call for service. I will try to check the harnesses before calling. What is a harness?

Birdy, this 2E is the code for voltage to the motor control is either over or under specifications. You might have a harness loose on the motor control board. I have run into a few of these where all it was, is one harness not seated all the way. I believe you can get to it by removing the back center panel and it should be down on the right. Check all the harnesses going to it. Reset them if possible. You can also try putting it through the self test. Press and hold the chime and xtra rinse button together for 3 seconds. When the display shows 0, press and hold the wash/rinse and soil level keys for 3 seconds. It should go in the self test mode. It will check all the componets. If it passes, it will display a PA. If an error exists it will display SC. Look for a code of 91. back

How do I get error codes on my washer

Hi Fred, try this and see if it works: To recall an error code,
• Wake the machine by pressing any button

• Wait 5 seconds

• Press and hold the Start and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously

• All LEDs will go blank and after a few seconds the control will signal the stored code using audible beeps and blinking LEDs. The control will repeatedly signal the code, as long as the Start and Pause Cancel buttons are pressed. A two-second pause between repeats affords you the ability to make accurate counts to identify the correct error codes.
Once you have your code information, you have the option to reach out to the manufacturer to determine what the issue may be, or feel free to reconnect with me and I will attempt to assist you with the best of my ability. Thanks again for your inquiry!

It tries to start but then the start light keeps flashing

Hello John Schmader - Sounds like the washer could be experiencing a communication error with main control board, faulty door lock assembly, pump or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Is the unit making a humming noise? If so, either the drain hose or pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned. Does the washer display an error code? Try pressing and holding the START and PAUSE/CANCEL button simultaneously. All LED's will go blank and after a few seconds the control will signal the stored code using audible beeps and blinking LED's. The control will repeatedly signal the code, as long as the START and PAUSE/CANCEL buttons are pressed. A two second pause between repeats affords you the ability to make accurate counts to identify an error (if one displays).

Ge adora washing machine beeps when pushing start with door closed

Hit the power button until there is NO display . Unplug and wait a minimum of 30 seconds , plug back in and within 30 seconds hit SIGNAL button then DELAY START button then SIGNAL button again then DELAY START button again. door should lock and display t01 It is now in test mode . There are 14 different test it can run through in this mode , but all we are trying to do is check for error codes now and maybe get you back to normal, So turn the knob one click clockwise and hit the START/PAUSE button and see if any error codes come up. To exit the diagnostic mode - hit signal button then delay start button then signal button then delay start button and you are out of service test mode and back to normal. Post any error codes.

Water over flu

This is usually caused by
1. the dual pressure switch.... locateted in the top of the washer behind the control panel. It is a round switch about 60mm in diameter (usually green) with four to six wires connected to it. If you cant get a new one, try fiting a second hand one from a juncked one.

2. there is a plastic pressure hose connected to the pressure switch that carries the pressure signal from the base of the washer bowl, if this line is leaking, it cannot supply the cut off pressure signal to the pressure switch and the washer will keep adding water. Try resealing the ends of the tube with silicon or gasket cement where it joins the washer bowl underneth and where it joins the pressure switch. Make sure you UNPLUG THE WASHING MACHINE AND RECONNECT ALL EARTH WIRES WHEN REPLACING PARTS.

Cycle Signal beeping constantly

Hello dtaylorws,

You said,The cycle signal keeps alternating between loud and soft on its own and the other buttons will not function while this is happening, including the start button.

You could have a bed signal switch or control panel .
if the below suggestion failes or the problem returns you will need service!
Try unplugging the washer for 5 minutes and then restart it.
This should reset the system if there is a glitch like in a computer!
Sounds like we need to try to reset the system!

Huuum At your service!
Lets try this,
Like with an error code.
This can reset the system if it is electronic!
Unplug the washer and wait a 5 minutes then restart it.
If you can't reach the plug, use the breaker to cut the power for 5 minutes.

It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious.
Or they are sometimes just a glitch.

Let me know how it works! Waiting for your reply!
Please remember to leave a rating when you are done!
Thank You huuum

LE Code on control panel

Press "end of cycle". Plug off the wall. Code can be an indication of several issues. The most common cause is over-sudsing in the machine. Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. Lastly, a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause that error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, see that all wires are tightened..........
