I have a memory card with photos on which I can retrieve onto my computer, but the latest photos show on the camera but are not showing on the memory card.

Perhaps you did hide the pictures. When you hide the pictures, (the ones you don't want to show to costumers) you only get to see them on the computer. To unhide, goto the playback menu look for the line hide pictures and press. Rest must be simple.

I took my camera on holiday, started taking pictures then discoverd i didnt have the sd memory card in !!! i did take around 8 pictures which are now in the cameras memory. is there a way i can transfer...

Absolutely. With the memory card in the camera, press the Playback button to get into playback mode, press the MENU button to bring up the menu, and select "Copy." The first selection copies from the internal memory to the memory card. On the next screen select "All images" and then select "Yes" on the confirmation screen.

My card has pictures on it, but when I press playback button & turn dial it does not show an image.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos and to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How do i access the photos stored in the internal memory, not on the memory card?

If you remove the memory card, the camera will show you the photos stored in internal memory and allow you to delete them.

If you want to copy the pictures from internal memory to a memory card, put in a memory card and then select "Copy" from the Playback menu.

Can't get the photos to download from Scandisk. Format issue?

if u remove the card while the cam is on then it sometimes occurs the files may get corrupted so copy all the photo to a computer then format the card then copy it again to the card then insert it to your cam all cam pics are in jpeg extension so check the extension of the pics while copying to your card.

I dont know how to transfer photos from the built in memory to the memory card.

I had the same problem but found the previous solution skipped a few steps for those of us that need to be walked through these things! Here is what I did to transfer the photos I had on the internal memory on my Panasonic Lumiv camera:
Press Menu, use down arrow to move option on left side from "mode" down to "playback" (shows an arrow), then use right arrow to move to list and down arrow to scroll to last item on last page, which is "copy". Press menu to select it, then choose the first choice, which is internal memory to memory stick and push menu and you are done!
