Can't find my web cam icon

Greetings from New Zealand! You have not supplied much info - so we'll start from the beginning...SAFELY Remove web-cam connection - (I presume it is a USB connection?) - by R-clicking on the little icon - usally green - in the systray by the clock, & following instructions. Have you installed the web-cam "driver" software from the cd that came with the web-cam? If not then do so. Plug in web-cam USB & wait until pop-ups notify you that web-cam device is detected & ready to use. L-Click on "START" > All Programs > Web-cam program.
If this option does not work/is not available, then OPEN "My Computer" & click on web-cam icon. This should start web-cam software & you SHOULD see your smiling face on screen!
If Nothing works - then you will have to make a note of the model & contact Gateway for support.

Try doing a system restore to an earlier time under Programs accessories system tools --->?System Restore direct to another date before problem occur that might fix your problem if not try reinstaling web cam from acer web site

go to device manager - hardware option & flow when connected web cam see new icon of cam device.if yellow color so driver not work or" mach.if no have see new icon so your camera damage.

GO TO ALL PROGRAM AND RIGHT CLICK ON WEB CAM ICON NOW OPEN A LIST GO ON SENT TO DESK TOP THEN CLICK ...... WEB CAM ICON ON DESK TOP WILL BE USED IT ..............THANKS DEAR

There are different webcam softwares used to launch your computer web cam. So I would not know which was installed on your pc. But majority of them have the word 'cam' in their names. Eg 'youCam', 'yawCam', etc. So you would have to manually search your list of programs from the start menu for any installed program that has any form of 'cam' name. The Icons usually depict an eye. An alternative to manually searching your programs list on the search menu, is to simply type the words 'cam' in the search bar. The result with a 'cam' name and eye like icon is your program. Launch it to start your webcam. To ease you of further stress, you could either create a desktop shortcut for it, or pin it to your start bar.

start-> all programs-> arcsoft webcompanion-> open and you can see your web cam working.

find the web cam program under your start menu under all programs, find the web cam program highlight it and then right click it. you should have the option of send to desktop or create shortcut to desktop. From there you can simply click on the icon to load up your cam.

1. Ensure the web cam is secured to your personal computer (PC). Most web cams use a "plug and play" principle. You plug the web cam in; it operates.
2. Install the required software for the web cam to operate. This may involve placing a CD in one of the drives, or alternatively, downloading the software from a host site.
3. Always reboot the computer after installing new software.
4. Click on the desktop icon or the program icon to start the program. If the program is correctly functioning, the web cam will start producing an image of its view on the desktop. Adjust the web cam for a clear picture and the view you want.
5. Most web programs will have a icon for "take picture." Left click on that icon or button. The web cam, like a normal camera, will then "freeze" that image and place it in a photo library.
6. Open the photo library and examine the image just taken. Congratulations, you just took a photograph with your web cam.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
