Question about Pioneer AVIC-D2 DVD Nav/6.5" Screen/AM/FM/CD Player Car Video Player
OK, I spoke to Pioneer tech support and they had me go to destination>settings>connection status. If the parking brake shows "off", many of the functions will not work as a safety measure. I guess this is their version of interlock. I think it can be defeated with a wire-around, but thats what they say the problem is.

Make sure your E-brake is up. It only has to be up far enough for your car to register that it is up, and then the HU should let you press these buttons. Sometimes while I'm driving, if I need to change something, I'll have the passenger pull it up just enough for my dash to say "BRAKE" and then I can change things. Hope this helps :)

Try going in the screen resolution display. you can do it when the unit is in dvd lay mode or aux mode. once in you can adjust the contrast, color, brightness, sharpness ect..

To get access to the map dvd you need to push and hold down the eject button, as the screen lowers, you will see the map dvd slot.

I am having the exact same issue as EagleRising. I just bought a 2007 Expedition with the AVIC-D2 installed and it's not the easiest, most intuitive user interface I've ever seen. I can't change most of the settings as they're greyed out and I can't even find the nav-dvd slot to try to start over (by the way, the dvds didn't come with...where can I find them?)
Any help is appreciated...
you need a navigation disc to change the settingshttp://www.cndv-110mt.com
