How often should my gps be reset if at all?

The only thing you need to do (maybe) is to update the maps. make sure its maps cover the region where you will be travelling, otherwise it won't be of any help.

The only thing you need to do (maybe) is to update the maps. make sure its maps cover the region where you will be traveling, otherwise it won't be of any help. Since roads do change over the years it is possible that your map may be inaccurate somewhere. If you are unlucky to find yourself in such an area, an old-fashioned road atlas or an area map might come in handy.

Map update

You have not stated the brand of the GPS If it is a comj\mon liked Garmin Mio Tomtom navgig8 etc then go to the website of the manufacturter and select supportrand If its an unknown elcheapo from China then there may be no updates.

Their website said that updates are to come soon. As of now, there isn't any. Sorry about that. I have the same model and am in the same boat.

Wish I had never bought it. When I had a problem with the first one the r4wpresentative at Maylong said I could not have bought it because they did not do business with them, even though I had all the registration and prodect/serial numbers. Thankfully, New egg replaced it for free, but as the other commentator said, there are no updates available. Mine is getting less and less useful. Soon I will buy a Garmin with lifetime updates again, and throw this one into the garbage. My reccomedation, Never buy ANYTHING from Maylong.
