Orange light turns on and psp can be turned on but then switches off after around 10 seconds and the psp cant be turned on at all without the charger

Hi there, I am assuming that it was working ok until you tried to charge it then?? I have come across this problem before and you are right about the fuse, there is a fuse on the charge/power circuit that is located in the very top right hand corner of the motherboard, next to where the black power lead attaches to the motherboard - if you repair or bridge that fuse then it will work fine assuming that like I said at the begining it was working before you put the wrong charger in. If you cannot repair that fuse then the console will work fine if you can charge the battery without using that PSP (i.e. another psp or third party external charger) as there is no fuse on the battery circuit as there would not be a surge in power unlike the mains circuit. If you need more information or if this reply is not clear then let me know and I'll get an image of the fuse you need to repair.

Hi Gohan102, Open the battery compartment, and remove the battery. Look at the bottom inside corner for a little square sticker with has marks on it. is it dark or light, If it is dark, your PSP has come in contact with moisture. I suspect that your PSP has gotten wet or damp. If the sticker is dark, you need to keep your battery out for about 2 days, and keep the UMD door open and the whole PSP kept in a dry environment. Try it after 2 days of drying to see if it is recovered. Good luck Gohan....

It sounds like the battery is completely dead. The battery is easily replaceable and I would recommend trying that.
