Question about Dometic RM2652 Refrigerator

My Dometic RM2652 fridge suddenly quit cooling. No amonia smell, no yellow residue around cooling unit. Gas ignites, lites work.

    We are fulltime RVers and the unit has been on since arriving at our present job 2 months ago. did have storms, but no indication of a a lighting strike.

What is the yellow residue around heating element? my fridge just isnt working right and sometimes stops all together, the freezer worked until lastnight but fridge hasnt cooled right for a week or so.

Check the coils to the left of the burn chamber they should be hot not as hot as the burn chamber but hot to the touch. If not you could have blockage in the coils not allowing the fluids to flow. Also check that the flu area is clear no nest of any sort wasp or birds.

SOURCE: Dometic RM2652 will not cool on A/C or Propane

Ammonia is just what you a re smelling as the coolant is ammonia based Your cooling unit has leaked and is done for- Sorry I had to be the one to tell you

2 choices Replace the refer or Replace the coiling unit, I would suggest replacing the refer and having a new warranty

You need to have 12 volt supplied at all times to make it work
Check to be sure you have a good 12 + and a good ground.
Lots of times the coolant leaks without you smelling anything Slowly over time

SOURCE: no ignition

Remove cover from igniter (follow thin wire from electrode,back to it) and test for 12 VDC at + terminal on igniter box. If you have 12 volts at + terminal, replace igniter box.

Your cooling unit is done, and will need replacement. I will urge you to take down model and serial number and go to their site, or call Dometic , ( www.dometicusa.com) 1-800-544-4881, and inquire whether your unit falls into the recall on some of those models. You may end up with a new cooling unit, free of charge.

My dometic refrigerator unit is not cooling properly on gas or electric. The freezer gets cool but the fridge stays warm. What could cause this?
my domestic refrg will not work on electric but will lite on gas. freezer will get cold on gas but bottom will not cool.you can plug refrg in and it will kick the gas off. you unplug refrg on gas will lite.that part of the power board seems to be working.

My Rm2652 Refrigerator in my Rv just quit cooling. The electric element checks good and heats as well as on gass. I did not smell any amonia odor from a leak and have not taken it out and turned it upside...
You need to have 12 volt supplied at all times to make it work

Dometic rm2652 frige just stopped working, gas nor
Check 12V supply and fuses on lower board. If display functions okay, then look for yellow residue on back of refrigerator near burner. If yes, then cooling unit has leaked and needs to be replaced. See if recall kit has been installed, and check for 12V at both sides of limit switch. If no power on either side, then thermal link has blown, and need to be replaced, If 12V on one side, but not the other, than limit is tripped, and needs to be reset, by pushing button, or if not resetting, then replace, Check for obstructions to the bottom and top vent to make sure they are not blocked, On models with top side vent, check cooling fan for proper operation.

My Dometic trailer refridgerator is warm but freezer is freezing.

Unfortunately, you have a bad cooling unit in your refrigerator. Then ammonia smell means that you have a leak in the unit. TURN THE FRIDGE OFF!!! Do not use the fridge on AC or Gas until you have the cooling unit replaced or buy a new fridge. Depending on the model number and serial number of the fridge, it may be under recall by dometic and you might be able to have it repaired for free. If you will provide me with the model number, serial number and the serial number of the cooling unit (found on the outside of the unit in the fridge compartment, lower tank of cooling unit), I can then tell you the pricing of the repairs or whether it is under recall.

Again, TURN THE FRIDGE OFF and do not use it...RISK OF FIRE!!!!

Rv fridge problems
have a dometic rm2852 fridge . does not switch over from 110 volt to gas automaticlly. it will click but not ignite. can you help?

Will not cool on gas or electric
my RM2652 refrigerator will not get cold on gas or elec. freezer cold (not much) but main box nothing. also fairly warm/hot to the touch around the edge of the unit. Any ideas??
