How do I turn on the predictive text on my cricket samsung transfix phone?
On the SCH-R470C Samsung phone from CRICKET, you have to brig up the keyboard, (as if you were Texting someone ) and there is a Key on the bottom left side of the Keyboard that looks like a small "Gear". That brings up the "Settings" menu - uncheck the box that says "Predictive Text". Whoever invented that incredibly annoying feature should be severely beaten with both vowels & consonants...
On my CRICKET Samsung SCH-R740C, you can turn off Predictive Text by using the "Settings" button located near the bottom left on the virtual keyboard. The Button looks like a small "Gear" symbol. This brings up a Menu with an option for "Predictive Text" Un-check the Box. Whoever invented that INCREDIBLY annoying feature should be severely beaten with both vowels and consonants.

it is the same key as to change case. If you press it repeatedly, it'll cycle through various options in the top right of the screen:
initial caps with predictive,
all caps predictive,
lower case predictive,
numbers,
initial caps without predictive,
all caps without predictive,
lower case without predictive.
When T9 is not displayed, predictive text is off.
Just to spice things up, Samsung's idiotic software designers made it so that depending on the situation you're inputting text, the order that things cycle through is different, so you can't just press it a certain number of times to turn it off, you have to pay attention to the icon in the top right.

Go into a message like you are typing a new one. On the left or right soft key, they should be "options" - select that. When in the options menu, look for "typing options", "writing options", or something related to the dictionary. It is in there that you should be able to turn the dictionary on or off, which enables or disables predictive text.

Well it's not so much a solution as it is an answer.
T9 is 9-key Texting. So it will only predict what you're going to type if you're using the 9-key triple tap mode of texting.
It WILL NOT intelligently select options of what it thinks you are typing on the QWERTY keyboard.
I've had this phone for less then a week & so far that would be my only suggestion for improvement. Otherwise, it's an awesome lil' phone for what I use it for.
