Question about MicroNet Technology Titanium (TFDU16072A) Hard Drive
I have a 160GB USB 2.0 hardrive from Fantom Drives, bought on 9/30/06. It was working fine till recently when it stopped working. When I connect the hard drive to my USB port, and click on new hardware, it shows a external drive connected, but I cannot see the hard drive on "My Computer". I tried using Device Manager but it does not show up there too. I have tried this with all my USB ports. I have a Windows XP 2002 SP 2. I tried connecting to an old Windows 2000 laptop also but got the same problem.
2009 06 30 - I just had a similar problem. The Fantom external drive was working fine, but I had to shut down due to a thunderstorm. When I restarted the PC, the drive was not showing up. WHAT I FOUND: First, I didn't find this solution anywhere - everything seemed to point to a new install (or at least how to reformat and start over.) BUT, I right clicked on Computer, Manage, Disk Management - it still didn't show. On the right, under More Actions, I clicked 'rescan disks'. Now it shows up! And all of my data is right there. Whew!
