Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router
Hi, im play TA through the router and have never managed to get everything working 100% correctly. Currently: *I can join and play games without problems *When i try to host games the router disconnects and needs to be restarted manually when anyone attempts to join. portforward.com suggests that i use the DMZ mode. strangely doing this stops me playing the game at all. I have also had the router do a random disconnect during this message, which is quite a common occurance. Moving the router away from all other electronics clearly hasent helped: (solution suggested in a previous problem) can anyone here put any guesses as to what my problem(s) might be? thanks Woody
I think you may have to find out the port used by the game and set that port to be allowed access against your specific pc IP address in the virtual servers menu in your routers settings.

Thank you:
This succeeded in getting all the required ports open (according to a port tester on the TA server). however it still doesn't allow me to actually play or host games, which i can do with the same laptop connected through a different router.
I've already tried that :(
like i said, I've got the laptop to work on a different router without problems. I'm at home for 2 weeks, so cannot check the firewall settings on DI-525 router atm.
ps. I've just realised that the DI-525 connects through the internet through a separate modem, which i haven't checked the settings of. Is it possible this might have yet another firewall built in that could be the problem (again i can't check this for another 2 weeks)
Also I can't play a second time because everything moves to the left
