There doesn't seem to be a manual online anywhere - have searched a lot, best i can come up with is contact legacy; http://www.legacycaraudio.com/contact.asp They don't sell the 430 any more, although it is listed on their site so they may be able to help. There are manuals for several similar models on the site, which may help with connections etc. Hope this helps, post again if you need more :)

Car violently bucks and jerks when I take my foot of gas pedal to slow down and then apply subtle pressure to accelerate again. Impossible to drive in stop-&-go traffic. 1992 Legacy, manual. Has new...

This is timing slop, when you take your foot off the gas pedal, the timing chain or ignition has no more load and gets loose and the timing changes.

Amplifier has went into protection mode. What dose this mean.

it means you may have a shorted speaker(s) or speaker wire(s) or the amp itself may be bad.

Legacy audio LA590 car audio amp protecet mode

Is that on all the time or are you saying the light is on? If that light is always on that just means it's protecting your amp. If it's off and not playing bass then your in trouble

Amp problem

Have you checked the fuses on the amp?

Have you confirmed that you have both B+ and remote voltage at the amp?'

When measuring the voltage, place the black meter probe on the ground terminal of the amp.

Problem with legacy amp

I would check the RCA preamp wires connecting the stereo to the amp. If these are loose or broken, it could cause you to lose your sound.

Does the amp show signs of life, such as clicking on, an LED turns on, or anything like that?

Has anything else changed between the time it worked and didn't work?
