Re: how much will it cost to repair lcd laptop compaq...
The problem you are describing can be caused by a couple of things ranging from a loose connection (< $100) to a faulty component (>$100). If you take it into your local repair shop they should be able to give you a decent estimate before actually working on it. If you work on it yourself you save money on labor, however, you?ll probably spend a lot of time.
Compaq used to have a program where you would pay a flat fee, ship them your old laptop and then would ship you a working one.
Sorry I couldn?t give you a better answer but without having the laptop in front of me it isn?t possible to give a closer estimate.

If you see a Vertical/Horizontal colored lines on your LCD, that means either the Video Card, LCD, or the LCD Flex cable (this is the cable that connects your motherboard to your LCD screen) are going bad and needs replacement. You can still use your laptop though but I strongly recommend having it fixed ASAP before it gets worse. You're still under warranty, call HP/Compaq at 1-800-652-6672.
its the lifetime getting over of the lcd display , either get it replaced or just ignore it . Nothing of repairment can be applied to it . I am an authorised repairer for Compaq at my region . Sorry that we coudnt help you sir ,

its ur lcd screen problem mainly comes when ur screen get some external shock to screen mainly its not repairable need to replace the screen other way is a risky one by resolding the screen main board which is behind the lcd screen (dont try urself ) nd its not a big problem as ur screen work properly
