Question about Toshiba 53H71 53 in. Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Location of the STK392-110

From what I have read online the convergence problem and "touch focus error" on the blue color is caused by bad STK392-110. What ckt board are they on? There are two ckt boards connected to the blue tube, one on the socket and the other on the neck. I didn't see any ICs on those boards. Do I get to these ICs from the front or back of the TV? Where are these ICs located?

The convergence IC's are large 2x3 inch(about) black in color IC's that stand up against a metal heatsink on the main printed circuit board. They will have white lettering on them that will plain as day when you see them. Make sure you replace these IC's with the manufacturers replacements and not some cheap copy, if the IC's cost less the 15 bucks a pop, they are cheap subs. Also do not forget the heatsink compound on the back of the new replacement IC's before you reinstall them. Good Luck
