Ran an auto clean and now the door will not complelty open

SOME RANGES ARE DESIGNED TO LOCK IF THE CONTROL SENSES A TEMPERATURE EXTREME. IF THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE SENSOR THAT MAKES THE CONTROL THINK THE TEMP IS UP, IT WILL LOCK THE DOOR TO PREVENT INJURY. REMOVE THE BACK PANEL AND FIND THE OVEN SENSOR LEADS COMING OUT THE BACK OF THE OVEN. DISCONNECT THE SENSOR AND CHECK THE RESISTANCE. AT ROOM TEMP IT SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE AROUND 1084 OHMS. IF IT IS NOT CLOSE,
THE SENSOR IS BAD. PLUG IN A NEW SENSOR AT THAT CONNECTOR AND THE DOOR SHOULD UNLOCK. THEN GET INSIDE THE OVEN, REMOVE THE OLD SENSOR, AND REPLACE IT WITH THE ONE PLUGGED IN.

I fixed the automatic oven door lock on my oven. While the door was open, I pushed the button on the upper left hand side a couple of times (the one that senses when the door is closed.) Then I was going to call the repairman when the door closed! I had to run the self clean cycle again to get the lock light to go off, but it worked!

To remove oven door:
1. The oven door is held to the oven door hinges by two
screws. (One in each hinge.)
2. To remove the oven door remove the two screws.
Two screws
3. Close the door to the broil stop position and lift up.
then remove the door handle and take out all the screws around the edges of the door and pull the out side cover from the inner but a word of caution there are about three or 4 pieces of glass they are tempered and about 100 bucks a piece and most times they wont get real clean and will get messy again
SOURCE: The door on my frigidaire
Hello kmgtsg,
Welcome
You said, The door on my frigidaire stove model # FEF389WJCC locked and we are
unable to get it open. We weren't self cleaning the oven so I'm not sure
what happened. Any suggestions how to fix it? We did try turning the
breaker off and that didn't help.
Did you leave the breaker off for 5 minutes or just flicked it off and on?
It may be a faulty door Latch
The door latch consist of a micro switch and solenoid. Once the door is closed and the latch handle.
But first try to deactivate the door lock
Oven Lockout
To activate the Oven Lockout feature:
1. Press and hold for 3 seconds
2. After 3 seconds a beep will sound, LOC will appear & "DOOR
LOCKED" will flash in the display. Once the oven door is locked
the "DOOR LOCKED" indicator will stop flashing.
To reactivate normal oven operation:
1. Press and hold for 3 seconds. A beep will sound. LOC will
clear. The "DOOR LOCKED" will continue to flash until the oven
door has completely unlocked
2. The oven is again fully operational.
Let me know if these procedures work for you!!

Hi .The oven door will not unlock until it cools down despite the cycle being finished. If it has not opened in a maximum of 1 or 2 hrs then oven sensor failed during self clean cycle and will have to be replaced.Try restarting self clean to unlock door .If not you will have to do the old coat hanger trick or manually move the lock mech. from rear, sensor cost $30-40.Hop this helps .Please rate my response :)
I appreciate your post, friend!
Based off the information you have provided the door on your Frigidaire range will not unlock. I would suggest performing a reset on your range and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not work you can attempt to start another clean cycle and right before it starts press the cancel button. If neither trouble shooting step unlocks the door your latch may be broken. I would then recommend having a professional technician perform a diagnosis and repair. I hope this helps. -Matt
Hello Steven Krenz - Was the unit in self-clean mode? Try pressing and holding the "Clear/Off" button to stop any operation of the EOC. Do this at the same time while pushing and hold the light switch to the left of the door lock. Usually this will trick the oven into unlocking the door. If it is ineffective, try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and redo the steps. If door continues to maintain locked while open, the unit may possibly have a faulty door latch or a communication problem with the EOC. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
