Gigabeat room fails to recognize my Gigabeat

As above, the gigabeat watcher is green (ie the PC recognizes it) but the gigabeat icon in gigabeat room isnt working and hence I cant transfer music to the gigabeat! Am using Vista and it has worked before but now wont! Have updated version too (3.0). I have discussed this with the Toshiba Support people - the only answer they give is that the Gigabeat is not compatible with Vista and they have no plans to make it compatible. In other words, "Tough Luck" from Toshiba. Remember this next time you think of buying any Toshiba product - they will abandon you without any qualms.

My Gigabeat worked fine with XP, and I can use it as a storage device in Windows Explorer. The problem is Gigabeat Room will not recognize my device - and I believe Toshiba has no interest in helping out.

My Gigabeat still plays the music already on it very well, and new music can be transferred using Explorer but will not play.

Is this a huge scam by the manufacturers - they all know you will migrate away form their products BUT they will in turn pick up new frustrated buyers from other manufacturers?

Gigabeat Room Can't Detect Gigabeat on Vista

The key is to have the GB watcher run under XP mode and administrator rights. When you start up the GB Room right click on the program and run as administrator. It runs every time for me. I have the F20.

Gigabeat room fails to recognize my Gigabeat

It seems to be a permissions thing. When you launch Gigabeat Room, right click and choose "Run as Administrator". The Gigabeat button is then activated in the room interface.

I have a Toshiba Gigabeat F60 from several years ago. It stopped working shortly after I got it and now I would like to try to get it working again. Upon start up it says "no system found oh HDD" but my...

The Gigabeat is not recognizing the firmware on it. The easiest way to re-install the firmware is to install Gigaroom. It will be able to recognize the Gigabeat and replace the firmware.

Driver files for Toshiba Gigabeat MES30VW

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Computer does not recognize Gigabeat Device

the solution is simple. Simply Run both Gigabeat watcher and giga-room programs as administrator if u have windows vista.
How to do this :

Click on start in the taskbar at the bottom right of your screen,
then click on all programs,
then click on the Toshiba Gigaroom Folder,
then right click Gigabeat watcher and click on "Run as Administrator"
then right click "Gigaroom" and click on Run as Administrator

and then look in the bottom right of the taskbar, the little Gigabeat watcher symbol should be there with a green square instead of grey. If its green then it means Vista has recognised your gigabeat and u can now transfer music to it via gigaroom. i hope this helps people as i was on the verge of buying XP myself again... Peace all and HAPPY GIGABEATIN!
