SOURCE: How to change blade on 10" Craftsman table saw?
you need to grab the blade with something.maybe some pliers(if you are not going to refurbish blade) and loosen the nut in the center of the blade. i think it is a left hand thread(cw to loosen) because of the rotation of the blade. if the nut is on the left when looking from the front it is probably left handed. make sure it's unplugged and wear leather gloves so you don't get cut. install in reverse...

Yes. normally an eight inch stack dado set is used on a 10 inch saw. You will also have to purchase or fabricate a special throat plate (non-metallic) to accomodate the extra thickness of the dado set.
The number of blades used, and therefore the thickness, varies depending upon the task at hand.
Make sure to use the factory supplied nut and washer to capture and tighten the dado set securely on the arbor.
Be very cautious in the use of dados. Do not raise the set higher than 1/4" or so until you are familiar with the use of a dado set. Try to avoid so-called "wobble" dado sets. They are IMHO more prone to dangerous kickbacks and harder to adjust than a stack dado set with dado shims.

most sears stores have a dept. that refurbishes and sells these tools. if it can be had, they can help.
SOURCE: bought model 3400 skil table saw. have no manual.
This model does not have a knob on the side.
There is only a locking lever on the front next to a single rotating wheel for height adjustments. To tilt the blade simply twist the locking lever to the left and push the height adjustment wheel to the right. It can be a bit stiff at times to move.

The Blade Arbor is held to the bottom of the table with mounting screws and stop/adjusting screws. Loosen the mounting screw and adjust the stop screws to make Blade true with miter slot.
