Behind plastic screen looks to have dust on it

How do I take the plastic or plexi glass screen off the front of the TV so that I can clean the back of it? Is there any special clips I have to unhook? I didn't want to force anything.

  • Bradley Schuldt Mar 20, 2007

OK, I just tried that, but I feel like I am going to break or damage the frame of the screen. I can't find a spot to put the screwdriver comfortably between the shield and the clips, would this be located in the corners? Sorry, I looked on Mitsubishi's web site for the owners manual, but the page doesn't load the manual up.

That front screen is what Mitsubshi calls the Diamond shield. Every set is differant but easy to do. Look carefully at the top and the bottom or the lrft and the right, fr clips that run the entire lenth of the top and the bottom or the entire lenth or the right or the left side. They bsimply snap into place. Mitsubishi says to gently insert a small screwdriverbetween the diamond shield and one end of each on of the two clips and gently pull off the clip. Good Luck

The only other thing would be for your future use of a downloaded manual to explain how to disassemble the TV set or to make adjustment to, still alot less expensive then calling out a service tech, go to http://www.servicemanuals.net/results.as... Download the service manual and then you know for sure what to do when and where. Good Luck to you.

Hi, I have an Hitachi 42PD9700 plasma TV. When the TV is off you can see a mottled/patchy area on the top right hand side of the screen (this is still visible when the TV is on if you look closely). This...

Same problem. Gray clouds INSIDE the external (plexi)glass of the screen.
I guess either:
1 - Screen collection dust or some electrostatic phenomenon.
or
2 - Some coating peeling off.

1 may be solved by dismounting and cleaning.

Any solution you know about ?

My color is off on my whole tv i have a 52''projection toshiba cinema series the old big style and was wondering how to adjust the colors so they match up

Sounds like what was wrong with mine! Take the remote and hit menu, then scroll to the Video Adjust button, then adjust the "convergence" or the color tone, brightness, contrast etc. My repair man did this and it helped get the picture much more life-like. He said over time they get out of line and just need a few adjustments. He just charged the $50 house call. Good luck, hope you can fix it.

I have a philips HD rear projection TV 60 in. inside there are six adjustment knobs. Three are color the other three are for brightness contrast and hue. Which is which Left to right

If yours is a rear projection TV the adjustment knobs on the focus block inside are screen (red, green, blue) and focus (red, green, blue). The ones you are referring to as color are the screen controls and they adjust the intensity of the color from each tube. The other set adjust the focus of each color. They are also not intended to be adjusted by the user. Unless major components have been changed these controls should not need adjustment. That is why they are inside the TV.
