Hi
I have had problems with my Digital camera. I imagine it stems from dropping it but I have black spots on the pics..basically they show up on light backgrounds and also when I zoom in. I had it in at a shop and was hoping they would fix it..I described the problems to them and they said they replaced the LCD panel. They said the spots had been quite noticeable. They sent it back to me (after I spent over $125.00) and yesterday I took some pics. Brought the camera home and loaded the pics and there was the spots again. So I turned around and took pics of the sky and there you could see all kinds of spots..what causes this? After seeing the spots again,I did check the LCD screen when taking the pics and I noticed some spots were readily visible on the LCD screen. So what do I do now? If its not the LCD panel..what could it be? I could send a picture if that would help.
Tthere is a black spot right in the middle of my pictures. It is magnified when using the zoom and also with light colored backgrounds. there seems to be a "bubble" when you look at the lens. For the begining claim for the unprofessional repair or get your money back asap.
There is a possibility that lens unit had suffered from the stress. Part number for the optical unit is:A1060696A.
The price (for my account) is 100 Euro.

I suggest you send it back to repair shop to clean ccd area. there are fine dusts in ccd screen area that camera need to be disassemble and removed and cleaned. I do not think the LCD is the problem. Some point and shoot models dust flowing through more than some others and if I am not mistaken, it seems this model has dust problem.

If
you turn off the LCD screen and use the viewfinder, same problem? Even
with this wrong, are you try to take pics and see this in your pc? They
are white or with some lines over image?
Two things there, first... could be a problem with the viewer screen, or, second choice could a problem CCD sensor go to bad; in both cases this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines,
blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being
recorded on the camera's flash card.
I suggest check THIS LINK for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD
(Charge Coupled Device) and next contact your Olympus service. Istrongly suggest(taking intoconsiderationthe age of yourcamera) to evaluatethe cost ofrepairversusthe cost of anewcamerawith similarfeatures, before making afinaldesicion.
Keep in mind and check if even you are underwarranty, if yes, applied.
Hi cutesaying, if it is on all you photos in the same location it is one of two things, worse case is a bad sensor location (unlikely), most likely is there is crud on the sensor. You can perform a sensor cleaning if you fee up to it with specialized tools. Search the web for sensor cleaners there are many. Changing our lens is the most likely way dirt, and the like, gets on the camera sensor.
did you drop it?, most likely this occurs of people drop their cameras and the inside connection dislocates. simple solution is to take it apart and fix any loose connection on the lcd and put it bak together. if that doesn't solve it, order a new lcd for it, unless if it's lesss of a hastle getting a new camera
There is not going to be an easy fix for this problem. An electronic component is going to have to be replaced. It is easy for a camera flash to burn itself out from dew or moisture condensation inside the camera. All it takes is one drop of water in the right spot when the camera flash is fired, and the 300v tidal wave from the flash capacitor crashes into the sensitive 5v microchips(only 20v is needed to damage them.) I would sell it "as-is" or "broken" online somewhere to try to recover some money.
the camera's light sensor or metering system, for correct flash exposure is no longer working, that's why your shots is either black or white (overexposed or underexposed) the flash firing has loose its control because of the defective sensor, it now only depends on the charge current of the flash capacitor. If you'll wait longer time the charge is maximum picture result will be overexposed(white), and vice versa, less charge, dark result, have the flash assy replaced. Daylight no problem, it doesnt use the flash circuitry, thanks
My Nikon was having the same problem with the stationary black spot. I used a can of Dust Off ( the original compressed gas duster). I just removed the lens and held the camera upside down (lens facing the floor) and blew my compressed air inside and my black spot disappeared. Just a thought you might like to know !! Good luck.
