Yes I tride cleaning but as not made any diference. I put the wrong name of the recorder it is a Panasonic and not a pioneer, it is suposed to write on DVD Ram DVD-R AND RW and DVD +R but I have discovered that it will record on DVD-R and +R only and will not record on DVD Ram or any RW Discs the recorder keeps saying unsuported media type. But used to work fine up until a month ago.

When I insert a blank DVD+R to copy a VHS, It reads the disk, says "Unknown Disk" and ejects it. How do I record if I can't keep a disk in the machine?

some discs don't work in some recorders. I always use verbatim, ritek or tdk discs and have very few problems. if the recorder suddenly dislikes a batch of one brand, I'll use one of the others.

Insert blank dvd rw but after trying to load ejects. weird as it plays all dvd's fine

Hi, well even though it plays OK what's wrong is that the record laser is faulty, and when it "Tests" the inserted media, with the record laser to see and set the power levels it fails as it is faulty and thus ejects the disc. Replace the unit, repair is un-economic. In saying that it may be advisable to get a "Quote" from an approved repairer?

How to record dvd in ordinary format?

I will presume it plays back fine on your dvd recorder.
In this case, you need to "finalize disc" for it to be playable on other dvd players.

Also, possibly, If you are using a dvd-ram disc, you must make sure that the dvd-player you are trying to use even supports dvd-ram. Most will NOT.

Also, Make sure you are not recording in VR mode. Only some very new dvd-players will support VR mode discs.

Dvd player wont play

Make sure that the DVD Disc is of the format that your DVD recorder can read. For example, if your recorder specifically requires a DVD -R type disk, it will puke on a DVD +R disk.

Recorded dvd's won't play on other dvd players Toshiba d-r410

You can play these recordings without finalizing them in the D-R410, but if you want them to play
in other DVD players, they need to be finalized. See pages 28 to 32 in manual. If you want to
finalize the disks you've already made, follow the directions on page 32.

Unit will play pre-recorded dvd's but when trying to record on any blank dvd disc it say's read then preparing and then invaid disc ?

Older DVD players (as well as some lower end products) will not play computer recorded disks. Another option may be which DVD are you recording on. DVD+R or DVD-R. Some players will only play one version. (usually -R I believe). Or could be a problem with youtr authoring program. Try a different program and/or type of DVD Recordable disk.

DVD+R will not play

2 Things 1 You need to Finalize the disc to play of a DVD player check that out with your DVD burn program. 2 Check the DVD players capability with certain discs, not all payers will run 'burned disks' sometimes even the brand of disk matters or whether it is + or- type There are may variables with the DVD firmware. Finalize first the the first step.
