Vertical black line down centre of screen

Line is always in the same place on the screen and is more prominent on some channels than others (particularly sky sports). It is not a thick line,in fact on some stations it is quite faint, but it is always there in the same position and is very annoying

We have a Toshiba Regza 47" lcd hdtv for a year....several months ago a vertical black line appeared on the right side approx 6 inches from the frame edge. Is this a problem with this particular model with Toshiba? Any feedback would be appreciated...Thank you...E. Connell, Lakeland, Fla [email protected]

I`ve got the same tv and the same problem, dont think its to do with channels, but how dark the picture is. Can only see the vertical line down the centre of the tv when the picture is light colour eg sky, light blue sea etc

I also have a vertical line down the middle of my Toshiba Regza 42" LCD screen. I called Toshiba and they said this was the first one they had heard of. They said it was likely the source of the signal, however, it appears on the screen from the satellite box with a monster cable, a HD DVD player with a highend HDMI cable, as well as multliple gaming consoles. Regardless to say that I'm very dissapointed and will not buy a toshiba again.

We had the same problem on a Regza 3030D 42" and reported it to Toshiba UK Customer Services. They arranged for a new TV to be sent out and replaced ours at no additional cost. Their service was first class.

How do you fix samsung ps50a457p1dxxu has black verticle line down centre of screen

A vertical line could indicate a faulty lower scan (long skinny boards along the bottom of the set) board, a faulty lower scan connection to the screen or a bad screen altogether!

I have a panasonic 48 inch plasma TV which has developed a fault. There is a yellow line down the centre of the screen on all channels. Is the TV knackered?

Hello,

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER
Hope this will help in solving the problem.....

Only top half of screen has picture there is a white line through the centre and bottom half black

If this is a conventional TV with the original style Cathode Ray tube, this fault sounds like failure of the LINE OUTPUT TRANSFORMER.
It can be fixed, but may cost you around £70 ($120), possibly more if you have to call out an engineer.
Best NOT to use the TV as it is, because it will certainly damage the tube if you leave it running with that white line through the centre!!!
If you do use it, this line will become permanent and if you get the TV fixed later, there will always be a burnt section of the screen where the white line was - so I suggest you either pay to get it fixed right away, or consider buying a replacement.

Vertical white line down centre of Soniq PT42SH plasma TV.

One of your "X" buffer boards is defective. In Panasonic plasma tv's they are located at the bootom of the set and connect directly to the plasma diplay panel via a thin ribbon cable. The board you want to replace will be directly in line with the discolored vertival line in the picture. The part number is on the circuit board and usualy starts with "tnp..." or "txp..."
