Question about Miele 24 in. G646SC Plus Free-Standing Dishwasher
The drier fan on my Miele g646sc dishwasher fills with water during the wash cyle and then when door opened all the water falls out the front. drying poor as a consequence. obviously some trap door in the fan compartment not closing properly. diy fix possible?
Well, I just took my hose out (pulled both ends off the connectors) and it was indeed full of junky cruddy muck, so blew it out over a waste bin until it ran clear through. Now I've put the hose back on and will see what happens next wash!

I had exactly the same problem. Just took the front panel off (bottom two screws on each side of the door), removed the hose and blew all the crud out. Problem fixed.

I am experiencing the same problem with my G851SCI dishwasher and came here to look for solutions. Did you finally remedy the problem?

You have the Miele problem, and have found the usual solution.
This
happens every year or two. Take off the outside front panel to access
the hose that runs from the bottom of the fan down to the dispenser, and
lets the water drain out through it to the interior. Clean out that
hose as well as you can. Replace. This is a stupid problem that Miele
should have a permanent fix for. Grrrr.
In fact I just did this with mine today. The hose cleans out quickly,
the problem is getting the front back on. 4 hands make it easier. It
slips on when you start close to vertical, then slip in in and down.
For putting the screws back in, you might have to use a micro
screwdriver to re-align the little clips on the door panel. (You will
see what I mean when you do it!)
This costs a service call ($100, give or take) to call for service. It
can be done at home with no added parts. I think it applies to all
Miele dishwashers, and I have now done it several times. As I said
before, this is a design fault and should not be necessary!
PS: I still have the puddle on the floor, so am trying again only 3 days later! But this has worked several times before.

Usually answered in minutes!
Just tried to solve this by unscrewing the front door panel of our Miele G692SC freestanding dishwasher, and cleaning the small hose.As advised by a few people;s replies. There was a little dirt in there. Bit of a mission to get the door back on- but it haas just completed a cycle, and seems cured! Fan sounded normal, and no water on the floor. Might be early days, but we will see! Thanks for all advice.
i dont think water is going in the dishwasher when i open the door its dry
