Turned tv off one night and next morning would not turn on. The power light blinks four times but the set does not come on. Have tried a hard on but still does not work. Anyone else with this problem and if so is there a solution we can do ourselves or does it require a technician? We are having a real problem trying to find one in our area. We live on Vancouver Island.

Re: tv turns on and off 4 times but never starts.
Your problem is most likely in the main power supply or possibly in the sweep power supply. Without the know how and a service manual, you could turn a minor problem into a mojor headach.. LOL Play it safe and invest in a pro to assist you in this repair, as there are no user replaceable parts inside this TV set. Good Luck

If the standby light is blinking 5 times then repeating, it is likely a problem in your picture tube or related circuitry. Other possibilities include the "Jungle" IC which takes care of the video, chroma and deflection processes and is a bear to replace. Either way, it could be an expensive repair.
