Question about GE 24 in. GSD3900L Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Dishwasher I have a GE dishwasher model GSD3800G00WW for mobile homes. Problem is the water is not getting the signal to fill, and my tech looked at it yesterday and checked out motor, water pressure, etc and determined that there is no power to fill switch or solenoid (not sending power to float switch) I have tried to locate a repair model for this model to no avail and need some advice as to what is the solution to this problem and what part do I need? Thanks, Dana

Thanks I'll tell him that.......I also had an GE TECH suggest tapping on the flat value but he tried that and she suggested the pump seals might need lubricating and to flush out the system with vinegar and water. (as I have extremely hard water) So I am trying that first and will tell tech your advice.

Dana, on some of these GE's the power to the fill valve goes through the push button assy. WD21X10110. I have had a couple like this. Doing this from memory but contacts 1&3 need to be closed on that switch. As long as the tech verified power out of the timer, have him check the push button assy. Catriver..post back.

GE dishwasher model number GHDA480N10WW doesn't fill with water.

check the float switch usually located in the front right of the dishwasher it should move up and down freely sometimes crud will get under the float and hold it up so the dishwasher thinks its already full.

No water going inside, but water to dishwasher fine

If it is supposed to be the filling cycle and you have no voltage to the water fill soleniod then a timer contact is not making connection or there is no voltage to the timer relay. Fix it!

Ge Triton XL Dishwasher Fill Problem

I would check your fill valve screen, where your water line connects to the dishwasher, lots of times i will see that screen clogged, especially on customers homes that have wells.

There is no way to change the fill time on these.
There is also the potential problem with the float sticking if it is gunked up it will not allow water in...see that it moves up and down freely and you should here a clicking noise.....If it is not one of these there could be a problem...with the timer...I am providing a link that will help walk you through this problem in a more technical...manner...if you are not comfortable performing these tests...i suggest you forego it and let a tech handle it....

GE Portable Dishwasher won't fill/cycle

In a front corner of the tub is a float switch that raises up as the machine fills, then shuts the water off. when pumping water out the float drops and enables the fill solenoid valve to work when signaled by the timer circuit. Make sure the float is free to rise and fall. The residual soap may be holding the float up. Run some cycles without soap to clean the tub, manually clean it out if necessary. Make sure the water supplied to the machine is at least 129 degrees to get good cleaning and prevent soap build-up.

Help the water on my dishwasher is screwy.

The problem might be with a faulty water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side on most models), in which case replace the water valve.
