Loading problem I have two units that have gone out of sync. The loading mechanism is not sync'ed right and they don't load. I am wondering if anyone has a gear timing layout? I realize I might have a mode switch problem but I can't tell until I have the gears lined up right. Thanks. Don

I sure thatnk you for the response. Unfortunately I know it is a timing issue because the owner got it to me and the tape loading mech. had jammed the tape in the unit and they (the owners) had already taken the top off, and tried to remove the tape. They had removed the loading mech already and moved things around. I've been trying to line up holes and tick marks to no avail yet. I might have a lead on a working unit that I can use as a guide. I'll try to post my findings. Thanks anyway.

To check if you have a machanical problem or not. take the vcr cover off. put a dummy tape in and manually put the tape in by pushing the loading motor by hand till you get the tape guides all the way in. now plug it in and see what happens. if the tape playes or comes back and eject, then you do not have a machanical problem. but if hear noise or it does not come back, then you have to mess with the timming layout. if you have that problem, then locate the timing drum and then try to match the holes on that drum with the holes around the other drum. sorry to say, it is a hard thing to do even with a layout in front of you. but hope you will not have that problem

Has anyone cleared JAM form a Teac PD-X100 compact disc changer

You either have a broken part in the loading mechanism or the belt for the loading mechanism is off or stretched. Remove the chassis covers and inspect it.

Why does our VCR automatically shuts off when we turn it on?

Not knowing model I will explain:

All VCR's have when turned on a mechanism that cycles in the unit-testing the loading/unloading mechanism----It will shut down instantly if a problem= broken belt, jammed or damaged mechanism etc.

Someone will need to open the unit and LOOK at the tray and loading mechanism---slipping or broken belt etc.

Tapes don't load

Perhaps some physical damge to either the main mechanism or loading/carriage mechanism if you can't get a tape inside the unit. The power shut off is an automatic response, when the operation becomes comprimised.

It seems that the mechanism is out of mode as the front cassette loading mechanism and the tape forward loading mechanism have gone out of sync. How (Where) to reset the mode?

This could be caused by damage, anywhere in the mechanism. Look around for broken plastic parts first. Setting any VCR up out of sync is a nightmare, without the user manual near impossible. The mode switch will probably be out, it could even be the cause of the fault in the first place!

Open & close disc doesn't work. It is open not but I can't close it. Looks like both open and close don't work.

Hello
There are three possibilities for this trouble with this DVD player. The first one is imprper loading function due to loading motor or loading belt trouble. If loading motor is weak [that is its pulling power has gone low] the tray will not close properly into the mechanism, and will not touch the load sensor switch fitted inside the mechanism. If this happens, the main system control IC will detect improper loading and will turn the tray out again to load it properly. Just try to close it without a disc inside the tray, and check whether it closes well. If it does so, or the trouble repeats, change the loading belt first. In most cases, this will retify this type of trouble.
The second one is, bad 'Sled' motor. sled motor is one, which spins the disc inside the mechanism. After proper loading, if the disc do not spin inside it, again the system control IC will sense it, and will eject the tray. The sled motor also is a replacable part.
The third one is, damaged gear wheel in the loading gear section. to detect and repair any of above trouble, you have to open your DVD player, and take the DVD mechanism out of it, and is somewhat semi-skilled work indeed. Check these first. If you want anymore assistance from me, feel free to get be by fixya. If you are somewhat skilled, and have confidence and can follow the diagrams, send your email address to me by FixYa. I'll send the service manual of your DVD player by return mail. All details and disassemblng procedure are in it. OK

I got an LG VCR GC980NW (MG 64) VHS VCR. I've wrongly pressed both the eject and play forward button at the same time. After that, the VCR shows both the 'EJECT' message and 'No Tape' signal, and then...

It is possible that the mechanism is out of mode as the front cassette loading mechanism and the tape forward loading mechanism have gone out of sync. Now it is important that the MODE of the system control is in the correct parking.
Hence I feel that the VCR must be opened and the mechanism reset-ted. Make sure that the tape loading has come back to the correct parking and also the cassette loading has returned, other wise remove the mechanism and reset.

I have a Philips HTS 6500 HTIB receiver. It started to show a "No disk" message when trying to play dvds. It seems like a common problem for this device. I have some experience with electronics but I am...

First, I commend you for taking the initiative and tackling this yourself. Every device that loads through a slot has a device that prevents a disk from being loaded when there is already a disk loaded. This is the device (the two pins) that you are describing. What you need to do is disassemble the unit again and while reassemling check at each step to make sure the pins are out of the way (usually down).

The pins are usually connected to the loading mechanism itself by gears, so it may be necessary to manually turn a gear or belt (very gently!) to get the mechanism to a position to accept a disk. Most likely this won't work by itself, but it might. If it doesn't, then separate the pin mechanism from the loading mechanism, get the loading mechanism into a position to accept a disk. That is, not in the position where the disk is being "read" by the machine, and put the two mechanisms back together, of course with the pins out of the way, and try it out. It may take a time or two to get the gears in just the right position to work right, but you seem to have the ability.

I hope this helps. If not, please post what happens, and i'll do what ever else I can to help.

I rebuilt the carbs on my GL1100 aspencade but am still getting engine loading when going uphill at 65mph in 5th gear. Can anyone give me some advice on what to fix or check next.

I had same problem, clutch is oil bath type, check oil level in engine, if not full the first thing to happen is loss of power in 5th gear going up hill. Full level, loss of power GONE!!! Lynn Ed.

My tv dvd combi 21pt6820/05

These units use a belt for the loading mechanism. If the belt slips at all, the loading will not complete and lock. This will prevent the unit from reading the disc. Try loading a music CD. If hte CD plays ok, then the optics assembly is in need of at least a cleaning or replacement.
