I have the same problem, but it shows files with 0 bytes. The drive has hidden files oddly the same size as what I was transferring.

In the explorer make sure you can view hidden files. (Tools>folder options)

Check the file sizes of each file by mousing over. Add them all up manually. Is this the size of the disk ?

If the total size is not the full storage size copy over to the PC> format the drive and drop them back on.

Windows run doesn't keep my work history

you have to physically save any work
save the history to a usb drive in case you have computer failure

Plug the flash drive into your computer's rectangular-shaped USB drive.

Wait for Windows to recognize the system.

Windows operating systems use "plug and play" technology, which means that computer peripherals like USB flash drives can be recognized instantly by the system without further need for device configuration.

Open the drive on your computer.

Open the "My Computer" directory if using Windows XP or the "Computer" directory if using

Windows 7 or Vista. Locate the flash drive letter and icon under the section named "Devices with Removable Storage." Double-click the flash drive icon to open it.

Transfer files to the flash drive.

Click the "Restore" button in the top-right corner of the "Computer" or "My Computer" directory to shrink the window so that you can view your computer's desktop background.

Open the folders or locations of the files which you want to save to the flash drive.

Click and drag with your mouse each of the files and folders you want to save to the flash drive over to the empty space in the "My Computer" or "Computer" window.

Release the mouse button to let the files "drop."

Close the windows and directory locations when finished.

Save files directly onto the flash drive. From an open file (i.e. text, spreadsheet, image files. etc.), click the "File" menu and "Save as" option.

Select the "My Computer" or "Computer" directory in the drop-down menu at the top of the "Save As" box. Double-click the flash drive letter under the "Devices with Removable Storage" section.

Click the "Save" button to save the file onto the flash drive.

Close the windows and files when finished

hope this helps

-you did not mention what process you used to save the files. Did you use the software that came with the drive to save data? or built-in software of windows? -If you still can, try the manual way of saving files like highlighting files/folders then copying them to the external drive.

How do i download data onto my scandisk

You would access it from My Computer like your normal harddrive. Note if the removable drive is showing up in My Computer then this is a sign that another device is already been assigned to the drive your USB drive wants by default. The links below will help you assign a drive letter to the USB drive.

How to backup your computer onto a firelite hard drive

VISTA: Hit the flag and go to computer. You should see the hard drive then if it is plugged in.

XP: Hit start and go to my computer and you should see the hard drive then if it is plugged in.

If this doesn't work try another USB slot for the dard drive. Some of your USB slots may be defective.

When i put my r4 into my ds its just says cant find menu?

hi it sounds like a software problem. follow the following instructions. Please can you try and reformat the 2gb micro sd card in your pc and copy firmware from the CD back onto the 2gb micro sd card following the instructions below. be warned that formating will remove even the games from the card so make sure you have a backup of the games saved to your computer. any saved games will also be erased.

To format the 2gb micro sd card
1. Insert sd card into usb stick and into usb port.
2. Close autoplay screen if it appears.
3. Right click on removeable drive. (Eg D, E, F or J etc) that appeared on screen in computer window.
4. Left click on format in menu and when format window appears, tick quick format box and select ok. This will erase all content on the sd card and remove any corrupt firmware.

To reload firmware
1. Insert cd into pc cd/dvd drive.
2. Open cd drive on screen and copy and paste the files and folders from the system/english 1.18 folder on the cd to the removeable drive that the usb and micro sd card are in. The folders that you will copy are "_system_" and "moonshl" and the files will be "menu.dat" and "mshl.nds".
3. Once copied, check removeable drive to ensure files and folders have copied over.
4. Remove usb stick from pc and insert sd card back into R4. R4 menu should appear on DS screen.
this normaly sorts this out. paul

USB Flash Drive

By chance was the flashdrive formatted in NTFS? If so, try FAT32.
Also, if you are right clicking a file and using "send to", don't do that. Try "copy" instead, then go to My Computer, right click your flashdrive and select "paste." Then safely remove and see if the files are there.
