FirmWare Problem I turned on my MP3 player and it came up with the "Firmware Problem" icon. I read the troubleshooting steps suggested by others with this problem but nothing worked. I tried turning my MP3 player off, but it will not turn off. I tried fully charging the battery, but that did not solve the problem either. When I plug the MP3 into the computer using the USB cable, the computer does not even recognize the player as being plugged in. I need some help on this one.

i recently got a mp3 player (zencast v plus) i installed it but my computer is not saying it is connected. So i went out and got a 2.0 D-LINK and set that up but it doesnt seen to be working. Now when i tried to do everything all over again my mp3 player said it has a firmware problem and when i tried to fix the firmware problem it didnt work, and i cant even turn off my player at all or do anything with it. please, please, please help me......

yeah, it had that screeen, saying "firmware problem". i took out the battery and put it back in after a while to see if that changed it, and it just kept on showing the powering-up screeen and turned off over and over.

Same problem here. Rebooting, "re-building library" and then "firmware problem". Nothing seems to work. Wish I could format it. Anyone got an idea?

Make sure you have media player 11
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
Download recovery tool off creative's website.
go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them
Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

When i turn it on it just shows the ILO symbal and flashes

Hello.

In order to fix Your iLO Mp3 Player please follow these steps:

Please connect the player to a rear USB port on the computer. The display should show “USB Connected”. (If not, please press the power button.)
Please make sure that all unused programs and applications are closed. You can close the applications by closing as many of the icons in the lower right hand corner (by the clock) as possible.
Download the Firmware.
Click Open to initiate the download.
Double click on the ILO or Siren folder icon. There will be 14 icons.
There will be a Setup icon that looks like a box with a blue line on it; please double click on this.
Then click Run - this will open the Install Wizard.
The Install Wizard has the instructions on the screen as you go through it.
Once the firmware has installed, please click the Start menu, then Programs.
Look for the icon that says ILO or Siren, and then double click the Firmware Update to install to the player. Depending on how severe the corruption to the firmware on the player is, you might have to do this step 2 or 3 times in order for it to completely repair the firmware.

Additional Tip: The player itself requires a lot of power while flashing the firmware. We suggest disconnecting all USB devices from the computer except the MP3 player and mouse; you can reconnect your keyboard once the firmware has been flashed.
